What you can see on my website is a booking bar where you can schedule a call with me or you can go to one of my live workshops. I’ve added a call to action on my WordPress website that appears on the top of every page and I’ll show you exactly how to do that now.

If you want more helpful videos like this, you want to see the rest of the videos I put out every day for you I trust you’ll smash that subscribe button, turn those native notifications on and check the subscription feed for more.

Let’s go take a look in and show you how this works on my website because the key thing first is why. Why would you want to do this? Let me show you why you’d want to do this in this Acuity tutorial.

When you go to jerrybanfield.com you will see this option Calls and Workshops with Jerry Banfield, you can click on the View Calendar then look at this. You can now go directly to book a call with me, you can click on, for example, I’ve got a 45 minute video call available and the price is based on my current availability.

I hit the set time zone then what you can do is go through my calendar here and pick a time you want to have a video call with me on Zoom in your local time zone, based on when my calendar is already synced up. This is awesome because it’s synced with my calendar so you can book whenever I’m available here for your call on any different day of the week which I think makes this really cool.

I’m also getting the Jerry Banfield Show set up which will allow people who are interested in going to the show to get tickets for $20 to come see the live show in St. Petersburg, Florida, on the same calendar. Instead of choosing this appointment people will be able to pick a different appointment than the 45-minute video call on the calendar.

This is why you might want to set this up because I’ve paid as much as $1,000 an hour for calls. Having video calls, workshops or classes is a great way to monetize what you’re doing. Having this little booking bar right at the top of your website and a calendar that’s really easy to view is awesome.

This also works on mobile devices meaning whenever someone’s on mobile my actual header will only appear small and there’s this nice Calls and Workshops button on it. On a mobile device the calendar will open on a new page which is perfect.

I’ve explained to you why you might want to do this now, so let’s take a look at how.

I’m also putting up a lot of other Acuity Scheduling tutorials today, maybe I’ll make a playlist of those on YouTube. The first thing you need to have this setup first is you need to go through your appointments, get all your calendars and scheduling set up, finish doing all of the other Acuity Scheduling tutorials I’ve got, then go over on your scheduling page.

You’ve got your client scheduling page right here on the left sidebar. Click on this one and then go over to the Booking Bar under Direct Links & Embedding.

If you grab your code here for the booking bar, just copy that code. Once you’ve got that code copied you need to learn how to put this in. If you’ve got WordPress, Wix or SquareSpace this is pretty easy to do on every one of these different platforms.  I’ll show you how to do it on WordPress.

The key thing you need from WordPress is this Insert Headers and Footer plug-in. You can get that if you don’t have it,  you can go over to Plugins > Add New. Then you can search for “insert headers and footers”, you click on the first search result here Insert Headers and Footers. Click on Install Now, then it should go over into Settings where you can go into Insert Headers and Footers.

Right here, you simply paste this into your bottom bar and click Save and then, if you’ve got a cache, click the clear cache up on top right.

What you can do to customize the text that you see at the top of the page, you can then customize the text in this. You can customize the button and you can customize the text. It also opens by default in a new window and it’s got your calendar link here.

I put Calls and Workshops with Jerry Banfield because I want people to view my calendar up here or I can have a call to action that says Schedule Appointment. I like View Calendar and View Options, things like that because I want people looking for calls and workshops to click on this therefore, I’ve got that up there on the top. I’ve got the booking bar embedded now.

I’ve been playing around it for a few minutes to see how to customize the colors, I have not figured out how to do that yet and this blue color will work good enough even though it doesn’t match perfectly with my website. It says it pulls straight from the color scheme already on your website, although when I changed it it looks like it’s the same color as the sidebar in Acuity Scheduling. Doesn’t that look like the same blue?

I think if I want to do that I can customize my appearance over here using my scheduling page or I can go over to appearance over here and I think I can change some of these fonts or header text colors or background. That’s what it says you can do to help, but the scheduling page looks significantly different than the actual booking bar itself.

I appreciate you reading this and I hope it’s helpful for you. If you want to get your own calendar up on your website or you’re interested in scheduling a call with me or you’re interested in coming to a live workshop, I’ve thought of all that stuff, maybe you’ll want to.
