Feeling Tired? Create an Uplifting Daily Self Care Routine

If you want to to have happy days full of gratitude every day, here are three things I do in the morning. Since I started my daily self care routine, my life has been better. I have been able to do more, I feel better, and I  take better care of myself and the people in my life.

Here are the three things:

1. I ask for help.

I ask for help with everything that I want do that day. I ask for help with my most challenging problems. I ask for help from my higher power and it makes a big difference. I choose to talk to a higher power because that works for me. I choose to call my higher power god because that’s easy to understand. I ask God for help every day.

I tend to ask for the same thing every day because I’ve tended to have the same  biggest problem. I tell God that I will do anything to not engage in my biggest problem every day. Then I ask to know what the right thing is to do every day and to have the courage to do the right thing. I ask for help making these videos. I ask for help being of service to you. I ask for help being a good husband and anything else I think I might need help with that day. I ask for help first thing in the morning, and I continue to do it throughout the day. Whenever I need help with something I say God, I would do anything to be a good husband right now.

Then I feel comfortable asking for help, from god, myself, and other people. First thing in the morning, I get myself in the habit. I get  on my knees and asking for help because the fact is I can’t do anything by myself. Asking for help puts me in the right frame of mind to be useful to do the right thing throughout the day.

2. Eat something.

Now, I usually eat before I pray. It’s a simple enough thing. My body, when it gets up, is ready to have some food and nourishment for the day. My body needs to eat and it can do without eating, the same as my spirit can do without praying. My spirit works better when it has enough prayer and it’s connected.

After I’ve given my body what it needs, I give my spirit what it needs. The body is one of those things that’s primary. I try never to let myself get hungry because when I’m hungry I’m not myself. My body feels uncomfortable and it will spread to my mind,  emotions, and spirit. If there’s food around, there’s no reason I should be hungry. If there’s no food around, you do the best with what you’ve got. When there’s food all over you do your best with it. If I have food at home, it helps me a lot to eat some of it during the day. That way, when my body begins to have some nourishment throughout the day.

When I begin the day, I take care of myself and then I take care of my spirit with prayer

3. Gratitude.

Before I try and get out and eat, I try and begin the day with gratitude. I say “thank you” for another day today. I try and find gratitude immediately. How many times do you hear people say I got up on the wrong side of the bed? The easiest thing I can do to have a great day is to get up on the right side of the bed.

I know I chose to get up in misery and suffering a lot of days and I didn’t know that I was making that choice. I didn’t realize I was choosing to get up and hate the world. Now I choose to get out of bed on the right side of the bed, I choose to do it through gratitude. I choose to get up and look at it like it’s a pain that I have to live this day. I could choose to get up and thank God for giving me the opportunity to get up and live another day. The puts me in the frame of mind to take care of myself.

That helps my mind to take care of myself. Even just the two words “thank you” are powerful when said in the morning. I often say thank you when I look over and see my wife in the bed. I say thank you when I feel the air conditioning on. I say thank you for every small miracle in life.

I get out of bed with my mind and my emotions in the right place. I get out of bed and I feed myself and take care of my body. Finally, I pray and ask for help and my body starts the say off right. I try and eat healthy food that’s well rounded. I have some fat and carbohydrates and protein. I often have a breakfast burrito in the morning which has all those and none in excess. I take a vitamin so my body is taken care of. The gratitude gets my mind and my emotions right.

I’m thinking gratitude, my emotions are also in line. I get out of bed with my mind and my emotions at peace. After  my body, my mind and my emotions are in a good peaceful place, then I ask for my connections. I ask to feel those connections with all life. I ask not to do things like poison myself that will make me feel alone and separate. I ask myself not to do things that are wrong to make me feel alone and separate. When I start the day off, I put in effort to make sure my body, my mind, and my spirit are all at peace. That way, they’re all ready to face what the world gives me.

That way I don’t have to wake up on the wrong side of the bed.  have a choice. I choose to do the work each morning. When I get a good start to the day, it’s easy to follow through.  No matter who you are, where you’re at or what you’re doing, you can do these self care things.

When you say there’s reasons you can’t do them, then you have a desire to ignore that you can be happy. Once you can see the desire to be miserable then you can overcome it. Wherever you are in the world, you have the chance to take care of yourself. Whether you are a parent or you have a full time job, you can make an hour to take care of yourself. I am committed to doing that each morning, no matter what form it might take. Whether I’m at my house, whether I’m traveling.  I make time to because I’m not going to do a good job anywhere else if I’m not taking care of myself. I’m not going to be a good husband if I’m not taking care of myself. I’m not going to be a good person to work with. I’m not going to be a good friend. I’m not going to be a good family member if I don’t take care of myself. No one can take care of me better than I can take care of myself. This world can be a beautiful place when we all do our part to take care of ourselves.

I pray today that I remember always to take care of myself. I pray today that in starting the day off right I maintain that gratitude that I got out of bed with.  I pray that in sharing this with you that you have the same opportunities in your life. Thank you much for sharing this with me, I’m honored you’re here and I hope you have a wonderful day today.
