If you would like to build a Facebook gaming page up, especially to build a following from zero or to just keep building your community bigger, and you would like to use ads, will you please read this tutorial because I’m going to show you exactly how I’m doing laser-focused ads to build the likes, the followers and ultimately the number of viewers on live streams up with ads?
Facebook Ads for Page Likes with a Video for Building Followers in Gaming on FB GG

After years of advertising on Facebook I can tell you with certainty that ads work extremely well to build up a following. I’ve built millions of followers on my page over the last several years using Facebook ads.
As we can see here, my Facebook page has millions of followers and I’ve also got hundreds of thousands of followers for free through organic traffic as a function of having so many through ads.
Now, there are ups and downs to using ads just like everything else in life and what I will do is show you how to get the best results out of Facebook ads for your page by doing laser-focused video ads telling people exactly what they need to do in order to see your live streams.
I’m grateful that Facebook is giving me hundreds of thousands of people that are seeing my posts for free every week in the news feed, hundreds of thousands of videos for free every week. I think Facebook gaming is the very best opportunity to get started from zero or if you have already got a following on Facebook to do gaming full-time.
That’s why I’m doing it even though I have thousands of followers on Twitch and hundreds of thousands of subscribers on YouTube. Facebook gaming is where it is at and especially on Facebook gaming the ability to build a page with ads.
Thank you very much for getting started here with me.
If you find anything helpful in this video, will you please leave a like on it because you will feel good knowing you have given something back and you will help other people find the video?
First, we need a basic idea of what we are going to do with the creative on the ads. What I’m doing with the creative on the ads is keeping it super simple, focusing exactly on one specific thing I’m doing consistently in my live streams, one specific game mode, for example, “Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Zombie Easter Eggs.”
I’m focusing, laser in on that.
You need whatever you want to promote ready to go first, and the more specific it is, the more you will be able to get the exact right person liking your page.
So, right now I actually have just paused all of my existing ads in my account to make way for this and what we are going to do is make a brand new ad campaign in real time for you.
What I will do first is to show you the actual ad I’m going to use for this.
I recommend using a two-minute video because you can use the beginning of the video to show actual gameplay, a highlight preferably from one of your previous streams, and then use the second half of the video to show people exactly what to do, which is to like the page and to see the post first in the newsfeed, to get live notifications and to actually watch, to start commenting and getting to know you.
That’s what you can do with Page Like ads, if a thousand people see your page and maybe a few hundred like it, and every one or two people go through and do every single one of those steps, this is really valuable for your community and that’s what we want.
We want to build the really valuable members of the community.
I can tell you with having millions of followers on my page, it is the core group of a few thousand that watch almost every video, that see almost every post, those are the core group you want to build.
For example, the thousands of people who watched this video with my first few hundred Blackout kills, those are the people I want to build, especially everyone who actually dropped a like on it. Out of the thousands of views on the videos, the 68 people who actually hit the like button.
What I’m going to do is show on ads how to do this and that all begins with the creative.
So, without further ado let’s show you the actual ad I’m going to be running.
The basic setup is this.
I’ve taken highlights from three of my streams, three of my “Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Blackout“ streams.
I’ve taken three of the final game-winning reactions, then I explain to viewers exactly how to like my page, get me on their news feed with “See first,” set notifications, and finally encourage them, “Hey, if you actually want to play with me, please get in and comment.”
I will show you the actual video right now, and then we will do the ads for this video.
See first part of video ad: https://youtu.be/O5eoIwTWPjQ?t=300
“Let’s go baby, let’s go! There’s the solo win right there, first one ever on PlayStation. Drop the eight kills dog, keep running. Yeah, yeah! Stupid three, let’s go solo, that thing that’s how you do a duo victory baby, got it right there.”
See second part of video ad: https://youtu.be/O5eoIwTWPjQ?t=347
“If you’d like to join us for some Blackout games on Xbox or PlayStation, will you please do all of the following because this will make sure you join in on the live streams and you’ll start making a connection with us, and then be able to get in-game?”
“Will you please like the page because that’ll allow you to see the posts in your newsfeed?”
“In addition to liking the page, will you please check both additional options to ‘see first’ in your newsfeed and to turn on ‘live notifications’ because if you don’t do both of those things, you’re very likely to miss the new live streams that are coming up?”
“Finally, in order to actually get in game with me, we’re going to want to have some kind of relationship. The more I see you on the live streams, the more certain it is that I’ll be able to get you in-game one day.”
“Will you please come in on live streams and start commenting, saying, ‘Hey, what’s up?’, get to know me and help me start recognizing your name. I remember thousands of viewers’ names from live streams and that’s how we get in-game. That’s how we can make some videos and have some fun together. Thank you very much for watching this. I love you, you’re awesome and I imagine we will see each other again soon.”
All right, there we go.
So, you just watched the ad.
The sound volume will all be correct in the actual ad. I didn’t have the source in Wirecast to actually pick up the volume.
So, anyway, the whole ad will have correct volume. In recording this tutorial, it got a little bit off. Don’t worry about that.
You can see the basic structure of the ad here.
A lot of people won’t make it through this beginning part of the ad or they will just go ahead and like the page immediately before even getting through the beginning of the ad, but a few people will go all the way through the entire video of the ad and actually follow the instructions.
You might think, “God, why does he go on for so long explaining how to like and why to follow?”
Because I really want to make sure that the very few people out of the thousands who see the ad, the very few who actually do every one of these steps, “like the page, see first, notifications on,” know exactly how to ensure they see the live streams.
You can do this with any game you are playing. All you need to do is get some of the very best moments of your stream. I recommend grouping them up by theme.
So, if you are doing “Fortnite,” you can get some of your Fortnite victories. If you are doing “PUBG,” you can get some of your PUBG victories or some of your great kills. If you are doing “Red Dead Redemption,” you can do some of the parts of the campaign you were most excited about, and you can test different formats.
I’ve got another video I’m going to do called, “Let’s Finish Easter Eggs Together,” and I’m going to do the exact same thing with that, except it is for finishing “Zombie Easter Eggs.”
So, instead of having it for Blackout games together, you can then have it for “Zombie Easter Eggs.”
I’ve got another ad creative with the exact same ID here.
I’m finishing up a Zombie Easter egg right here, and then same thing, about 45 seconds to a minute in, after I get the achievement, I cut in and explain the exact same thing. I did film each of these end sequences separately specifically to the video.
That way, I’m laser-focused in each one.
These creatives are the first critical step.
You need these creatives to be on point because you want the creatives to then submit with ads.
I just tried using picture ads and the problem is, with the picture ads I’m just getting people to like the page. Almost no one is actually hitting “See first” or turning on notifications, and therefore, out of the thousands of likes I got in the last campaign, and I’ve seen this over the years with the millions of likes I’ve gotten on my ads, that very often people aren’t even hardly seeing any of my posts even though I’ve paid for likes.
So, the way I’ve done this is intended that you waste as little of your ad budget as possible.
Now that we are on the same page with how to do this, we go into the Ads Manager.
I’m in my business account here.
This ad account is just doing my gaming, that way there are no ads for all the other stuff I’ve run over the years.
We are just doing gaming ads in this account and what I do here, I click on “Create” to get started with making a campaign.
The next thing we do, I want to start over.
I don’t want to use any old campaigns.
What I want to pick on this is “Engagement.”
You pick “Consideration,” you pick “Engagement,” then you pick “Page likes.”
What I’m going to do is separate these by country. I will make campaigns to different countries with different ads in them. I could separate it by game, but what I really want to see is the aggregate country level.
So to begin this, I’m picturing what I want to see each different campaign by, and I would like to be able to do something that over the years keeps working and countries will stay the same.
Some of the earlier campaigns I did games and countries together.
You might think, “Why do you even need to do different countries?”
I will show you some tips and tricks you can use to get a ton more page likes by having more of a worldwide view instead of just a country specific.
So, I’m going to start off in the “United States of America” because that’s where I live.
We are going to do “Gaming Video Likes USA” or I could just make this, “Gaming Likes USA” for short, and that’s the campaign name. Then, what I will do is just change each of these country names in future campaigns.
I will literally be able to copy the entire campaign, change the country, and then test out using different countries.
What I will do, I’m not going to check “optimized budget across ads sets” or “split tests.”
I’ve got this started, so I will click on “Continue.”
Next, I’ve got the Facebook page I will promote.
The first thing I want to do is go up here, click on that “Ad Set Name.”
Now, I want to do this by the exact ad I’m doing.
So, for this one, it’s going to be “Let’s Win Blackout Games Together.”
So, this is the “Let’s Win Blackout Games Together” ads.
I’ve already got my Facebook page selected.
I scroll down here.
I’ve got “United States” selected already.
I can hit “Languages” in here and select “English.”
Now, I definitely want to do this because I’m doing ads in a lot of different countries.
I also can do 13 in my ads if I want to, although “Call of Duty” is a mature video game.
So, it might be safer to just do 18 for the “Age” if you are doing something like “Call Duty,” which is a mature video game.
I will just do 18 since it is “Call of Duty.”
Now, down here I’ve already got “Interests” pre-filled from other ads.
So, what it’s got in here?
I’ve got “Call of Duty (video game),” and it’s got “Call of Duty: World at War,” and “Call of Duty: Zombies.”
In “Suggestions,” I can put more interests in here.
I can put “Call of Duty: Black Ops” and “Call of Duty: Black Ops II.”
Now, this isn’t going to increase the audience size that much because a lot of these are overlapping.
I can also go through and test different ad sets.
So, what I will do is put on the Ad Set name, “Let’s Win Blackout Games Together, Call of Duty.”
That way I can go test different ad sets on this in the future. I can test one just by targeting Xbox or PlayStation, and see that might even get me cheaper likes then doing the game itself.
But first, we are just going to begin by testing the game itself, and then for anything else I want to test, all I do is copy the ad set and edit the targeting.
Now, we go down here to “Edit Placements.”
The Page Like ads will only go in certain places anyway, so you don’t really need to edit the ads.
The Page Like ads are only showing in feeds right now, so I actually can use “Automatic Placements” on them.
Now, this is really important for gaming videos.
“Why didn’t you say at the beginning, Jerry?”
You want to be able to schedule your gaming videos to go off at just when people are online.
Because I’m doing live gaming videos, what I don’t want to do is be showing ads to people who just don’t use Facebook when I happen to be live streaming.
Fortunately, Facebook gives us a way to control this and this is one of those little-advanced things you can do.
I will show you exactly how to do it.
I will take it nice and slow and carefully for you.
First, you need to adjust the budget.
Now, the standard way most of us do ads is just do a daily budget, and then run it continuously. The problem with that is you are not able to schedule your ads.
Since I’m doing live streams, it’s very important especially doing worldwide ads at least in the future using these same ad sets, I want to make sure people are only online while I’m likely to be streaming because lots of us have habits when we use Facebook.
Let’s say for me, I’m very rarely on Facebook from 9 p.m. to 7 a.m. because I’m usually in bed or if I’m awake, then I might watch a Twitch stream or a movie, I might be filming gaming videos or editing videos.
I have certain times that I am more consistently on Facebook and I noticed a lot of my viewers on live streams are just waking up in the morning.
People waking up in the morning or going to bed, or at work at the same time every day, you want to hit the people who are online every day or most days at the same time you are live streaming.
That way, when they go do everything you have just asked them to do, they have liked your page, they have “See first,” they have got notifications, then the timing is right.
The person is waking up, the notification comes up, you just went online, they go in and watch your entire stream.
If you just put it on “Daily Budget” and run the ads all the time, the timing is going to be off so often that you are throwing away a lot of your ad budget.
So, what you do for this, you click on “Lifetime Budget.”
This will open up additional scheduling options that you can use in here.
If I click on “Daily Budget” and I scroll down here, I have to run ads all the time.
When I click on “Lifetime Budget,” then I have the option to run ads on a schedule, and you always want to use your time zone because then you can put in when you specifically are streaming.
So, I will go through that again.
I said I would go through it slow.
First, you must put on “Lifetime Budget” first for this option to open up.
Then, you scroll down here to “Ad Scheduling,” and you click “Run ads on a schedule.”
That will open up this table down here.
Then when you have got the table open, you want to put in a good window of when you are usually online.
I do an hour before, and what you want to do is click on “Every Day” too, so you don’t have to click for each individual day.
My live streaming time is usually 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. with some variability. That means some days it is 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Other days it’s 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., and some days it is noon to 4 p.m.
My sweet spot for live streaming is right in these windows and I will do a little bit beforehand because if someone is logging on right beforehand there is probably a good chance they might log on.
Some days I do earlier live streams at about 8:30 a.m. and if someone is on at about 8:30 or 8:45 a.m. every day, they have got a good shot to catching some of my live streams right at the beginning.
Now, I am very rarely live after 6:00 p.m. because I have an AA meeting I go to most days.
So, I’ve got 3 p.m., and then it’s easy to lose track of where these little markers are.
That’s 12 a.m., 3 a.m., 6 a.m.
These markers can be easy to lose track of when you have got all this stuff clicked.
So, you click these out and make sure you know exactly where they are.
I’ve got 9 a.m. to noon right here.
If you click out all of these, you can lose any confusion.
I think I did it exactly right to start with, but let’s look at this again.
This is 9 a.m., that’s noon, that’s 3 p.m., and that’s 6 p.m.
I know I want my ads to end at 5 p.m. so I want my ads ended right there.
I know I want my ads to start before 9 a.m. at 8 a.m., so I want my ads to start right there.
That’s exactly where I had it clicked.
Then, you just fill in everything right here.
Now, what I’ve got is nine hours checked in here.
That’s 9 out of 24 hours.
This is helping me to exclude everyone who is on through all the rest of these times because I almost never stream during the rest of these times here.
Therefore, I don’t need people who are online at those times and that way if people are online all day every day they will be online in here also.
So, I’ve got the schedule set right there.
Now, what I need to do is go back up and change my lifetime budget.
I’d like to do a budget of about a dollar a day and what I will do is just put this in advance a bit. The problem with scheduling is then I potentially need to edit it and it can go offline.
Let’s just keep it simple for one month, and then I will just have to edit it.
I know with one month I want to calculate how much I want to spend every day on this.
So, to start, I’m going to spend about five dollars.
I will just put a hundred dollars.
That will give me about three dollars a day on this one, and then I will do another one, and that will be another three dollars a day.
That will be about a hundred dollars in total, and then what I can do is edit and extend this campaign every time.
Now, I don’t need to do this today, and in fact, the ads will take some time to get approved, so I’m actually going to start these ads tomorrow because I actually won’t be live streaming today.
So, I will start these ads tomorrow, with a lifetime budget of $100, then my ads will run and I can edit this anytime, or I can just copy the campaign and do a new lifetime budget, or copy the ad set, and do a new lifetime budget.
Then, over here you can click “More Options,” but I recommend to just leave it on “Standard” delivery, so it just does the ads throughout the time.
Now, we have done everything, but the creative at this point.
We have got the targeting.
Also finally, you do want to make sure, go up here and select “Exclude people who like your Page.”
You do not want to waste money running page like ads to people who already do like your page. This should be on by default, although I think it might not have been the first time I went through to do this.
Make sure you exclude people who like your page. That way, you do not run duplicate ad sets.
Now that you have got this done, you are going to click the blue “Continue” button down here and we are in the final step of this ad.
What we need to do in the final step of this ad, we put in the title up top, “Let’s win Blackout Games Together.”
We put the title of the ad in and you will notice that we just do the title of the ad, we don’t need to do anything else.
Then we are going to click on “Single video.”
We want to upload a video.
Now, there are certain format restrictions on this.
It says that the recommended length is up to 15 seconds.
I realize most people won’t watch more than the first few seconds, but I always go over because when someone actually is willing to watch the whole thing, I would rather keep them there for two minutes than for 15 seconds.
It says that the recommended aspect ratio is vertical.
However, you can test some different ones.
For a gaming video, I really need to do it horizontal.
So, we are just going to put this one in there horizontal.
Obviously, it can’t be over four hours, and you can only put up to four gigabytes.
What we will do now is upload a video.
I will go, “Let’s Win Blackout Games Together.”
The video will need to upload and process. It shouldn’t take that long for it, but we will go down here while it is uploading.
We will go down here and do the text for this, which is the final step of the ad.
What I want to do on the text is to make very short and clear call to text, but I do not want to ask people to like my page in the text.
What I want to do is put something that’s very accurate in here.
“Let’s win games — Let’s win Blackout — Let’s win games of — “
See, you want to make this as short as possible.
So, the question is, how do I make this as absolutely short as possible?
“Let’s win Blackout games together.”
And then I can put the game in to help.
“Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 on Xbox and PlayStation.”
Now, I’ve got this, which is very quick and very clear: “Let’s win blackout games together in Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 on Xbox and PlayStation!”
Now, you can test different versions of your text.
I always encourage to test as many different things as possible.
At the same time, you don’t want to just go crazy testing. I’ve found very often one set of text works about the same as another and sometimes you just get lucky on things, so you don’t necessarily need to obsess and go crazy.
Try to just make something simple that anyone in the world could relate to, so that if someone in India who likes “Call of Duty” sees this and reads “Let’s win blackout games together in Call of Duty,” they can say, “Oh, yeah. Cool. Okay. I’ll like the page and maybe I’ll even see first and get notifications.”
Then, what you can do is see how the ad looks over here.
You will be able to see what the ad looks like.
I can see “Jerry Banfield” and “Sponsored.”
Then, “Let’s win Blackout games together in Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 on Xbox and PlayStation!”
Finally, there is a like button and people can interact and talk with it.
And now I can go over here and see what it looks like on desktop.
There is a nice option to like the page. People could even share it and it’s nice because you have got my actual reactions.
Now, notice that there won’t be any sound in there. That’s why it’s important to have a good clip of your gameplay in here because you can see when it says, “Let’s win Blackout games together,” you have got actual footage of it. People have got a good chance to like the page.
Now, if someone is really enjoying the video, they might go actually click on it and unmute the sound.
Then, for the second part of the video, I’ve got this slide in the background, and even if someone is not actually listening, they can see the Facebook page, they can see what to do, they can see that it is “See first” in the newsfeed, they can see everything to do without even having to actually get the sound on.
Therefore, I’ve now got the entire ad set up, and Facebook is giving me the option to crop and save my videos in different ratios.
I don’t know if I actually want to do that, but you can customize the video as well.
You can click on “Customize Video,” click on “Captions” and you can just do “Generate captions automatically.”
I will just let it save automatic captions to video.
The captions are now saved automatically so people can watch with captions.
I definitely recommend to just let it at least do the auto-generated captions right there, and we will put this thumbnail up here that people can see, and either one of these thumbnails will be fine.
You don’t want a thumbnail with too much text because sometimes that can be a problem.
All right, we have got this entire ad finished.
Everything is ready to go.
Now, what we do, we click the green “Confirm” button on the lower right side of the screen, which my face obscured, but it is down there.
Now, what will happen next is the campaign will begin uploading and it will go into review. This is normal and it can often take up to 24 hours for the ad to be reviewed.
Therefore, for scheduling, you probably just want to start it the next day.
Don’t even bother starting it today, just start it the next day, and then if you want to waste some time, you can try to obsess and see exactly when it has got approved and try to go crazy on it.
I recommend to just check on it the next day and save yourself some time. Time is most likely your most limited thing.
What I will do here is show you how to then start scaling this up and testing different formats.
What I will do immediately over here is duplicate this one and I will put this in the original campaign.
So, I’m going to duplicate this and click “Duplicate.”
Now, what I’m going to do is make the exact same ad, except this time I’m going to use this zombies video.
So, on this one, it will say, “Let’s Finish Easter Eggs Together.”
I’m doing the exact same thing, but we are doing a new “Ad Set,” with exact same scheduling, everything the exact same as the last one, and then what I need to do in this one is changing the ad.
So, in the new “Ad Set,” I can click to edit the ad.
Or I can just delete this ad if I want to and just hit “Create” in the ad right here.
It’s already in the existing ad set.
So, I hit “Continue.”
Then what I can do is put “Single video,” go back over here and type “Let’s Finish Zombie Easter Eggs.”
Now, we will upload another video.
This time we are going to upload the “Zombie Easter Eggs” video and in this one now, instead of putting in the text I did before, I will type in this one, “Let’s finish Easter eggs in Call of Duty Black Ops 4 zombies on Xbox One X and PlayStation 4!”
I’ve now got very exact text in and another unique video uploading. This allows me very quickly to just test both of these against each other.
For example, I might be able to get 5-cent page likes out of the Blackout video, but it might be 10-cent likes on the Zombie video, and then there is also the diversity because if you are hitting the same window where people are online every day, the ads will start showing repeatedly.
Therefore, it’s better to have lots of different ads even if some ads cost more because you can get the most diverse audience that way. You can pick up people who like Zombies, pick up people who like Blackout and once people start watching, people will often watch multiple things with you, but you might only be able to pick somebody up on one specific thing.
Or someone might see the first ad, doesn’t like the page, but then they see this Zombie ad after seeing the first one. That ad might make the conversion and it might have helped that they saw the previous ad first.
So, I definitely recommend, especially if you do play different games or you have got lots of different highlight videos, make sure to run different video ads. That way, you have got a shot to get the best conversion.
On this one, I will go over through here and generate captions automatically, and the captions are being generated this way.
I just uploaded the video so it hasn’t generated them yet. It’s starting to generate the captions. Almost getting them done. You want the captions on the videos because a lot of people do not use sound while watching videos, so you want to make sure you get those captions generated.
There we go, it just got all the captions done. It’s amazing how fast this is.
So, we go through, save the captions to the video, now the video has got captions on it and we have got everything we need done for this new ad.
So, I hit “Review.”
Over here I’ve got the ad set “Let’s Finish Easter Eggs Together.”
Now, I hit “Save to Draft.”
What I want to do finally is go back over here, and delete that other ad I do not want.
I just go back to “Campaigns” and select the “Gaming Likes USA” campaign, and we have just got this “Let’s Finish Easter Eggs Together” one in draft that I want to delete.
Make sure you uncheck the one you don’t want to delete.
I want to delete the Blackout one within the ad set of “Let’s Finish Easter Eggs Together.”
Make sure you go through this nice and slow, so you don’t delete everything you just did.
Now, I hit “Review and Publish” and this will give me two different ad sets targeted to the exact same audience with two different videos, two different chances to convert someone in as a viewer.
Now, I’ve got the “Gaming Likes USA” campaign with both ad sets over here.
Now, if I click, you can see I have two different ads in the campaign when we have got both ad sets on.
Now, the beauty of the setup I’ve done, what I can do is just build this “Gaming Likes USA” campaign out. I can duplicate this and change the country targeting into another campaign and that way I can make one of these for new PlayStation and Xbox games. Let’s say I want to make five or ten different video ads and ads sets to do with this.
Then, what I can do is target these worldwide. I can do a campaign for the United Kingdom, I can do another one for Canada and one for Australia, then I can do worldwide ads.
Often page likes are extremely cheap worldwide, if you can see in this last campaign I’ve done, the worldwide page likes were one cent each while the page likes in the US were 33 cents each.
Now that was just using image ads and I will get different results with video ads.
So, make sure to think of that worldwide audience, especially with your live streams, if you want one viewer from the USA for 33 cents or would you rather have one viewer from India for one cent?
Worldwide can really help, especially if you want to have the biggest live streaming audience and you want to get your quantity up.
What I’m doing first is building this out in the USA, build this campaign out deeper, get every exact niche thing I can think to do. I’ve got Zombies, then I’ve got Blackout games, I may put something up for Battlefield or for new games, and then when I’ve got those built up, I will just copy them out to several different countries.
And let’s say if I can get people to like the page in Canada for 15 cents and it’s 25 cents in the USA, then I might decide I would rather put more of my budget into Canada.
Then if I can get people all over the world that like the page for one or two cents, that gives me a good diverse audience where I spend some of my budget in countries that are most similar to mine you might say, and that gives me the highest chance to get, probably the highest chance to get donations, to get subscribers on the support option.
However, when I do that worldwide option and I get that huge worldwide audience for a lower cost, then that helps me get more people watching the stream. That helps bring in more people for free. I highly recommend to test worldwide out on your audience.
Finally, another thing I can do, I will show you this also, I can test this out by targeting.
So, what we can do, I don’t even need to target “Call of Duty.”
What I can do is just give this a test.
I will duplicate this entire ad set and we will test out different targeting.
So, even though I’ve set Zombie Easter Eggs, what we are going to do is target Xbox PlayStation on this one.
So, we are going to test different targeting on this one. We will test this out with Xbox and PlayStation targeting instead of Call of Duty targeting because sometimes targeting Xbox or PlayStation, I may be able to get even better results than just by targeting the actual game.
I can very quickly duplicate and test out different targeting on this and what I do as the ads start getting results in, then I just look and see where I’m getting the lowest-cost page likes and I pause the other ad sets.
I don’t just keep running all these ads and snowballing my budget over and over again. What I do is I test each of these out.
I’m duplicating both of those original ad sets and I’m testing out different targeting.
You can do this with a split test, but I’m not doing a split test because I can add even more targeting options into this later.
Then the split test sticks on the same budget and I want to have flexible budgets.
So, what we are doing, I’m testing both of these out on targeting the entire PlayStation and Xbox because some people may not have liked Call of Duty.
Now, this should work worse than targeting the actual game itself, but I don’t know that, and lots of times I’ve been surprised by the things that have worked for me advertising on Facebook.
So, I’ve got all of these set up here. I’ve got basically two different ads now with two different types of targeting and I normally would wait until the ad gets approved before I go test out these additional things.
Normally, you want to wait until your ad is approved to make sure you are not wasting time. I’ve got 500 plus ads rejected all at once because I didn’t wait to make sure the initial ad was approved. It was for a client.
I learned that you make sure your first ad gets approved, then you duplicate and test.
Since I’m teaching you how to do this, I just did this all at once so I can record this straight through in one video for you, which I think it is time to wrap up now.
Thank you very much for watching this.
I love you.
You are awesome.
I appreciate you getting all the way to the end of this video.
