Live Stream and Record Video Tutorials Without Taking More Time!

Where do we find more time to live stream and film video tutorials without it actually taking any more time? This is one of these super time management tricks I use to help me get all these videos and video courses and live streams done without it actually costing me any more time in terms of what I need to do.

What I do is I think, “How do I teach this in everything I do?”

I think, “How do I get the most out of what I need to do today?”

For example, today I’m filming the Complete Live Streaming Course,” and one of the things I have to do as a part of this course is a video on how to make a thumbnail in Canva. I’m also filming a section on how to write the best title and descriptions for our live streams.

Therefore, I have two things that I need to do, which are two videos for the course.

Now, one way I could go about that is to just go in Canva and show how I do all these things specifically for the course. The problem with that is that I also need to do a thumbnail for the course itself.

So, what I do is I just make whatever I need to do into something I teach.

What I’m going to do when I film this “How to Create a Thumbnail on Canva for Free,” I’m also going to actually create the thumbnail for my course in the same video lecture.

When I show “How to write the best title and description for live streams,” I will actually write some on the title and description for my video course.

You see, that way I do two things I need to do in one segment of time.

Instead of separately making the thumbnail for the course, instead of separately writing the description for the course, instead of then just reviewing other titles that I’ve used before, instead of just making a thumbnail purely as an example, I always think, “How can I teach whatever I’m doing?”

If I’m doing something, “How do I film this and share it?”

With my music production what I’ve done is a lot of the time I’ve actually been using and playing around with my music, I’ve just filmed it and live streamed it.

Live Stream and Record Video Tutorials Without Taking More Time!

This way I’ve got a bunch of live streams that show how I do what I’m doing as well as the results. In music, it’s the song. In the video course I do, it’s the video.

This allows me to do 2 to 3 plus times as much in the same amount of time. When we combine that with Wirecast’s ability to eliminate rendering and we give up the perfectionism that every single video or every single live stream needs to be perfect, because, “Oh, my God. What will people think of me if my live stream or my video is not perfect?” when we put all those together, I’m able to do about 10 times as much as I used to do.

When I started filming video courses, I’d set up every lecture in some elaborate fashion, prepare a whole PowerPoint for it, have all my examples ready. One of the first live streams I did, I literally had a screenshot for every single thing in the presentation. I was scared to just go into my account and show you everything I was doing in there.

Then, whenever I was filming a video course, I had to render that and edit the videos. If I said anything wrong, then I’d have to cut it out. One of the nice things about live streaming is it gets us in the habit of just doing our best the first time and accepting imperfections.

Now sure, I’ve gotten bad reviews on some of my video courses because people didn’t like that, I left in an awkward part of the video that I didn’t edit where I forgot what I was talking about for a minute, and then came back to it, or where I had some awkward pause.

“You should edit that, Jerry. You literally told me the wrong thing.”

Well, I fixed it by what I said next.

Live streaming is really good because it helps us let go of our perfectionism. There is a big barrier to live streaming. A lot of us just won’t want to live stream because we are scared.

Let me show you some data that will help with this.

These are my videos on YouTube sorted by most viewed.

In other words, the ones that have the most views on them.

“Whoops. I just clicked on one.”

There.

You see, I tolerate the imperfection.

Yes, I’d love to have a perfect presentation for you every time. I’d rather have ten imperfect presentations for you and odds are you will find one really useful than try to predict the one that you will like the best and be wrong about it.

Here’s what we have got.

These are my most viewed videos on YouTube.

The ad revenue, every 1,000 views is worth about $2 and a lot of these have a lot of organic views.

You can see thousands of dollars of earnings, and then for these videos with millions of views, that’s tens of thousands of dollars on some of these for video course sales each as well.

Now, let’s take a look and see which of these were live streamed and which of these were recorded in a live stream type of format.

These first two were kind of rendered normal videos. Although the guy who filmed them, Ermin, he made the videos and I sold a course with it.

So, two of my most viewed videos are more rendered and edited.

Now, that’s a small amount of views on my total channel, and that’s a very specific topic that I can’t make any more videos on very easily either.

Here’s the next one.

This was a live stream: Can a pro coach help me get out of bronze in League of Legends?

Live Stream and Record Video Tutorials Without Taking More Time!

This was a live stream that I didn’t even need to promote. It got almost all of these views organically. I literally filmed it and forgot about it, and then checked my YouTube channel and all of a sudden, two months later, I’ve got a viral video with hundreds of thousands of views on it coming in for free.

If I had just recorded it, I might not have even uploaded it. I live streamed it and people loved it.

I filmed this Google AdWords tutorial for a course.

Several of these other videos were filmed for video courses.

This #1 Cryptocurrency for 2018? video was filmed in basic live stream format. I just recorded and uploaded it with no editing.

I have a lot of these video courses here.

This one was filmed in basically “just go shoot straight from the hip” film, and yes, the information in it is not perfect, but no one else’s is either. It has a lot of free views.

Many of these videos were filmed in a similar format with live streaming and which ones are actually streamed?

Here’s one.

This was my first live stream.

This was a huge breakthrough.

My first viral video on YouTube that got over a hundred thousand views.

Live Stream and Record Video Tutorials Without Taking More Time!

This was a PowerPoint presentation where every single screenshot was practiced. The audio quality wasn’t good. What it allowed me to do was get motivated to start doing better.

A lot of these videos that follow are basically the same type of format.

Here are two live streams with hundreds of thousands of views and the further we go down, we start getting lots more live streams.

Live Stream and Record Video Tutorials Without Taking More Time!

Here’s a live stream with a thousand likes on it, and a hundred thousand views on something I didn’t even need to promote, and if I hadn’t live streamed that one in particular, I doubt I would have even uploaded it.

Live Stream and Record Video Tutorials Without Taking More Time!

I literally just sat down on my computer. I wanted to trade on Poloniex anyway that day, I thought I will just live stream this and almost a hundred thousand people have watched it over the last two or three years and a lot of people have said it was helpful.

I’ve got some partners from that with my partner program. I’ve got people who have collaborated with me on Steem.

It’s amazing how an ordinary live stream doing whatever we need to do anyway that day can do amazing things for us.

I’ve mostly uploaded videos to YouTube, but I’ve done a lot of live streams.

Here’s a live stream that I did on Facebook Ads and it was well received.

Live Stream and Record Video Tutorials Without Taking More Time!

Here’s another live stream with 64,000 views without promoting it.

Live Stream and Record Video Tutorials Without Taking More Time!

If you look, a lot of my most popular videos are live streams, even though most of the videos I’ve uploaded have not been live streams.

Live streams have a better chance to do well on YouTube and especially on other websites like Facebook, on Steem. Live streams on Twitter have a chance to do really well.

Here’s another live stream in my top videos. I did a bunch of cryptocurrency live streams and I made something like $50,000 or $100,000 in a few months selling video courses after doing live streams showing how to do all these things for a year or so.

Live Stream and Record Video Tutorials Without Taking More Time!

Finally, I made a video course with secret information in it, which a bunch of people bought.

Live streams are really good when done repeatedly just for free to also discover what people are really interested in.

If you want to have an amazing business, live streams work really good for that.

You can see that there are different types of videos I’ve done as live streams: cryptocurrency tutorials, gaming videos, or Facebook Ads tutorials, all different kinds of live streams that have done really well on YouTube and that give me a foundation where people watch my videos every single day, even if I’m not doing anything.

Live Stream and Record Video Tutorials Without Taking More Time!

I can literally not do anything in a year and I’d probably come back to 50 plus thousand more YouTube subscribers. That’s the kind of business we want to make and that’s the results possible with live streaming.

Here’s another live stream.

Proportional to how many I’ve done, the live streams have done really well just compared to uploading a video.

Live Stream and Record Video Tutorials Without Taking More Time!

This is five pages and my top 100 videos or so. A much higher percentage of them are live streams than uploading.

These three videos are live streams.

Live Stream and Record Video Tutorials Without Taking More Time!

This whole page is practically live streams right here and if you go backwards to forwards, the live streams would probably unlikely to be some of the least viewed videos.

Therefore, we have got clear evidence here and I hope we have got good motivation to think:

How can I live stream this?

How can I put whatever I’m doing today anyway?

How can I help other people by showing what I’m doing?

We might think that we have to be some expert to live stream something.

We don’t.

In fact, live streams where we are one step ahead of the viewer can be fantastically helpful. Many would say my cryptocurrency live streams are like that. Many people thought I was an expert, but really I’m just a few steps ahead of those people that are watching and that’s easy to relate to.

For some of the things I’m the most expert at, it’s hard to relate to the average person who is just getting started.

Live Stream and Record Video Tutorials Without Taking More Time!

It’s like someone asking, “How do you make money from zero online?”

I hardly know how to answer that today because it’s been years since that was my situation.

Often live streaming whatever we are doing can really help other people. I’ve had a lot of people who said thank you to me for live streaming music because I’m no expert, I’m no top artist.

In fact, I’m a total beginner and it motivates people watching, who are also total beginners or who are good at music, to see that I’m live streaming and say, “Hey, if he can live stream his music, I’m going to get my music out there too.”

Live streaming today is a huge opportunity like filming video tutorials is, and the easiest way to make time for it is to just figure out how to do what we are already going to do anyway on a video tutorial or put it up live, to use something like Wirecast to both live stream and record, and then to let go of our perfection and say, “You know what? This video is not perfect, but that might even make it a better experience.”

When I started listening to Eckhart Tolle, I listened to his two published books at first, and I loved and enjoyed them, and then I started listening to his freestyle retreat speeches. At first, I was a little uncomfortable with the change. It felt unpolished, unedited. It was awkward. The video or the audio quality wasn’t as good, and then I realized that I liked that better than his books.

I realized that he always had something original to say when I just listened to his retreats instead of listening to the book repeatedly. I realized that Eckhart Tolle was funnier. I realized he’s a lot funnier when he just speaks from the heart instead of being edited into a book.

A lot of us go through our whole day without laughing that much. If we make someone laugh in our halfway done video tutorial, that might be worth a lot more than the video or the live stream itself.

I’m grateful I’ve helped a lot of people laugh with my live streams and tutorials.

Sometimes it’s laughing at how bad or ineffective I am.

One of my videos that a lot of people watched is a fail. A Bittrex trading tutorial where I failed.

I said, Here’s how you make $100 a day trading,” and I lost something like a thousand dollars. I lost a lot of money in an hour trading cryptocurrencies. Every move I made was wrong and my strategy I thought would work, just didn’t.

Live Stream and Record Video Tutorials Without Taking More Time!

That’s funny when someone shows up and gets wrecked.

I’ve loved some of the live streamers I’ve watched, they start the stream off mic muted and I just watch because I wouldn’t have watched the stream for that long otherwise. I wanted to see how long it took them to realize their mic was muted. I wanted to see their live reaction when they realized they had started off the first two and a half minutes of the stream with their mic muted.

That’s hilarious.

That’s worth watching.

That’s human.

That’s real.

I hope this is useful for you today if you are thinking, “I don’t have time to live stream. I don’t have time to film video tutorials.”

You do have time.

When you have got equipment that makes it easy, when you have got a mindset that lets go of doing it perfectly, the time you have is enough to film videos and live stream.

Bam!

Now, another awkward ending.

It’s awkward because I am clicking the record button off on Wirecast while I do this and I’m not editing it because that’s what I just said.

So, it would be hypocritical if I edited it when I just said I don’t do that, wouldn’t it?

Yeah.

Love,

Jerry Banfield
