Logitech C930e Webcam for $79.99 vs Canon XA11 Professional Camcorder for $1,299

Logitech C930e Webcam for $79.99 vs Canon XA11 Professional Camcorder for $1,299

Will you join me in seeing the difference between a $75.99 Logitech C930e USB webcam versus a $1,299 professional camera, the Canon XA11, which I paid for myself and fully researched to see which one was the best because if you are trying to upgrade your home video production studio this might make the process WAY easier for you than it was for me?  When you want to research and buy either the Logitech C930e or the Canon XA11 professional camcorder, will you please use my links because as a partner with Amazon you will feel good helping me earn a percentage of each sale?

If you film videos or you are live streaming, or you are trying to make online courses and you are like me, getting the right camera makes a world of difference, especially when you can see them side-by-side!

If you find anything helpful in this, will you please leave a like on it because you will feel good knowing you are helping other people find it?

I value your feedback in the comments on YouTube. If you know of a different camera that’s cheaper and that works good, will you please share that because you might be able to help other viewers find it there?

I’ve been filming videos online now for seven years and I have over three thousand videos. The camera has been one of my biggest ongoing struggles because of the gap.

The gap between the $75.99 webcam versus the professional camera.

I was overwhelmed for years as to which camera to use.

How do I upgrade the USB webcam?

You can see the difference.

Now, the USB webcam I’m using is the Logitech 930C.

This is the best USB webcam I found out of testing 5 plus others.

The picture on the left of the screen is from the $75.99 webcam and you can see what a world of difference it makes to upgrade to the $1,299 one, especially if you are on a Chroma key.

A Chroma key is a green screen and I will show you what this actually looks like behind me.

If I turn the Chroma key off on both of these images, this is what it actually looks like behind me. At the left is what it looks like with this $75.99 webcam, and then at the right is what it looks like on the $1,299 Canon HD XA11 professional camera with a capture card.

Now, this is the exact same room, the exact same lighting. In fact, the cameras are only about 2 or 3 inches apart here.

There is no difference essentially in the studio environment and if I move the camera in a slightly different position, it doesn’t matter that much either.

You have got essentially the exact same studio on both of these cameras and you can see what a huge difference the picture comes out versus these two different options.

I’m using Wirecast to do this and I’ve got all my equipment listed at Jerrybanfield.com/resources if you want to see everything I use to produce videos online.

You might not think this is a big difference at first, but I’ve been essentially getting away with using a USB webcam for over 3,000 videos, even making courses that made millions of dollars in sales, and yet it’s an ongoing frustration to keep using a webcam with a picture you have to fool with.

I have this Logitech camera settings App, I’ve been using to try to make the picture better. You will notice that if I walk off screen there is a focus difference, and if I move around the frame rate is a little different.

This Logitech only captures in 30 frames per second while this Canon captures in 60 frames per second.

I can stream and film videos now fully in 60 frames per second at 1080p, which is the highest quality most of the time that’s available, and then you can adjust it.

If you are using just the Logitech C930e you can do things like turn the focus off here. You can turn the brightness down on it. You can manually go into this camera settings App and try to fix it, and what I’ve been doing for a little while is trying to essentially manually clean the picture up.

Now, what I gave you to start with was the default settings. I haven’t touched anything on the camera to adjust the settings. This is the automatic setting on the camera, and now you can see that I’ve put more color in my face messing with the Logitech webcam.

The problem is then it makes stuff look weird, like my arms lots of times will look to artificially tan on the Logitech. I also need to adjust the Canon one manually to get the very best picture I want.

But which one of these is the truth?

I’ve messed with the brightness settings a lot to get this one on the left to look like it.

So, you don’t need a $1,299 camera to look good essentially on the camera.

You can use the Logitech C930e for $75.99.

You can get the picture looking pretty good and it plugs straight in with the USB.

The problem on the Canon one is you also need a capture card to put that into the computer.

I have a $300 capture card also on the Canon, which makes the cost really $1,599 to get this feed into my computer.

That said, I’ve got so much more I can do with the Canon. I haven’t even explored how I can manually adjust it.

So, to be fair, I need to restore this to default on this Logitech one in order to get it back to where it was.

This is the default picture on the Logitech one, and this essentially is the foundation I’m working with on each of these cameras. The definition you can see is just way better on the Canon one and if this is the foundation I’m working on, I can absolutely tweak the picture a little bit to get it to look even better.

I’ve given you this comparison to help you out and see, how do you upgrade the camera?

How do you go up to the next step on a professional camera and is it worth it?

I’d say, if you are just getting started, go ahead and get the webcam. Just try to fool around with the settings on the webcam and try to get it to work just right.

Now, the thing is though, after you have made 3,000 videos, it’s worth it to upgrade the camera because when you have a better camera, you have so many more possibilities.

You can watch the focus on this Canon camera, I can move back here.

I’ve got my son in the carrier here while my wife is putting our daughter to bed, and I did this.

I thought this would be great to do just on human skin because with Chroma key, the skin is one of the key parts of the picture, whereas every time you put a different shirt on, it changes how the video looks, especially on the Logitech webcam.

Every single shirt then would mess with the Chroma key.

The Canon is a lot better between or among different shirts, but you have got it here, you have just got the skin and essentially the baby carrier straps here.

I hope this has been a helpful comparison for you to see what it looks like because I’ve been looking for years, is it worth it to upgrade and if I’m going to upgrade what do I upgrade to?

My friend Tomas George told me about this camera because he uses the older version and another older version of this similar camera is what PewDiePie uses, one of the top YouTubers in the world, and you’d hope he would know what’s a good camera to use.

What do the cameras actually look like?

How much do they cost?

Here’s the camera I demonstrated. It’s a webcam, the Logitech C930e.

You can see I ordered this item on December 7, 2017, because I had one before that, the exact same model and it actually broke, it stopped working, so I ordered another one and it’s been nine months or so since then.

This new one has continued to work really well.

This is, in my opinion, the best webcam if you want to just make high-quality videos. You can use the camera settings App and you can tweak it pretty well.

You should see my old picture on the 920C that I had. This works much better than that even, and the price is only a little bit higher. This is a beautiful webcam, it works really well and if the budget is your primary concern, this webcam will do the job, especially if you tweak that camera settings App.

Now, if you are a professional and you make videos like I do, then it makes sense to have professional equipment.

I make videos for a living now, I make videos and turn them into blog posts like this one.

Often, if you want to be professional, it might be a good idea to get the professional equipment first.

After seven years, I finally just got this and I’m absolutely loving it.

Now, the caveat.

I just hooked this up and I’ve been testing it this week.

So, maybe check if it’s a year later, and it all might be different.

You will notice this one is so new that it only has nine customer reviews and I’m about to add this in as well.

This is the camera I’m using now.

Note that you need a capture card with this.

I used the Magewell capture card for this and if you’d like to see all the stuff I use, will you please go to Jerrybanfield.com/resources because that’s got a laundry list of the equipment software and services I use so that you can find it all in one spot?

Now, if you’d like to help me out, I have a business system where I just give everything I do in terms of the videos I create, I just give everything away for free.

I’ve got video courses and all of them are up for free now.

I just give everything away.

So, how do I make any money?

One way I make money is to do honest affiliate marketing for the products I’m actually using. I don’t do any affiliate marketing for stuff I don’t use. Affiliate marketing is where you present something else ideally that you use and love, and then you give the viewer the opportunity to buy that item through your link. The seller of the item, then tracks the purchase was made through your link and gives the affiliate a percentage.

On this I have the Amazon affiliate program and if you’d like to help me out and feel good about it, will you please use my affiliate links in the description of the video for whichever of these cameras you want to buy?

Because you will feel great knowing that you are helping me sustain a business based completely on giving for free.

No thousand-dollar courses where I’m tricking you into giving me money for things you could have found out on YouTube by yourself or read in one of a million different books. I love this business system, but it takes help though.

If you are kind enough to remember to take the time to use one of my affiliate links, then Amazon will give me something like two or five maybe eight percent at best on the sale.

So, if you buy this Canon camera that could be a decent amount of money and I will also be happy to make $2 if you go through and buy the Logitech webcam, because that helps me feed my family, pay down my student loans and give back to others.

This has been something I’ve put a ton of time and energy into to get to this point. I hope this helps you to get there much faster because it is very competitive, you might say. There is a ton of people making videos, live streaming, trying to make online courses.

It’s little things like this, little tips, little tutorials that can give you a huge step ahead and allow you to save hundreds of hours compared to how I did it.

I’ve researched cameras and it has been an ongoing frustration.

Finally, I’m very happy with this Canon XA11 and before that the Logitech C930e functioned very well for me.

Thank you very much for watching this video and I am also putting this into a blog post.

So, if you found it as a blog post, it could be on Jerrybanfield.com/blog.

If you prefer to read, I put posts on there transcribed from videos.

If you found anything helpful in this video, will you please leave a like on it because that one little like button tells YouTube, this video is worth watching and ranking higher, and then I find when I help others I feel good myself?

Really simple, right?

I’ve given this to you for free and you don’t have to do anything. You feel good if you do give back. I realize sometimes I don’t like to feel good.

That’s weird, right?

Why do sometimes I really like to feel bad?

Anyway, we are liable to get off on a tangent.

I appreciate you watching this.

I value your feedback, if you found another webcam besides this one that gives a great picture for a low price, I’d love to see that in the comments as well as if you use the Canon XA11 or similar, what you think of it, how you set it up?

I try to read and respond to every comment on YouTube and I try to guide all the comments from my blog now over to the matching YouTube video.

I could go on for another two hours.

You can watch another video with me if you’d like to see that.

Would you please subscribe if you’d like to see more things like this because every problem that comes across, I try to create a video like this to essentially make it easier for you than it was for me?

If you ask, “Why are you not wearing a shirt?”

This is the only time I have to film and I’m a new dad with no paternity leave because I work online and have my own business.

This is as close as I get to paternity leave.

I strap my son up with me and he does the video.

So, if you are wondering about that.

Thank you for being one of the few people that got all the way to the end.

I love you.

You are awesome and I hope to see you again in another video.

If you want to make sure not to miss one, you can hit that little bell icon that’s next to the subscribe button, and that will notify you whenever I get a new video up.
