This is my journal entry from March 15, 2026, part of my daily autobiography Divorce Day — my real, unedited days, published in order.
It’s hard to believe that almost three months have passed since I finished dictating the final diary entries in this book. This is the point in my Daily Autobiography series where I started falling behind on publishing because I was busy experimenting with different things in my business. This morning, I woke up realizing that finishing the book would only take an hour or two if I simply sat down and did the work. The manuscript is now nearly 150,000 words. After working through the resistance, I dictated the introduction and am now recording this final wrap-up before submitting the book to Amazon later today.
The last three months since I finished dictating this story have been a wild ride. Looking back, the period captured in this book was probably the most intense stretch of emotional pain during my divorce. Life continued moving forward after that, especially in dating and rebuilding my life. Reading through the entries again reminded me how much happened during those weeks. I’m dictating this outro now from the same house I found while writing this book, which feels like a fitting place to close the story.
Going forward, I’m committed to catching up on publishing the Daily Autobiography series. My plan is simple: each day I’ll edit two or three older entries. At that pace I should be caught up within a few months and able to release these books on a regular schedule again.
I’ve also had a breakthrough with my business. As you’ll see in the next books, I spent a long time trying to figure out a model that fits both my creativity and what the local community actually wants. The realization I had recently is that I simply need to keep publishing books the way I already have been. Then I can create shorter samples from my writing—either chapters from longer books like this one or small booklets and essays around ten to twelve thousand words—and give those away locally. Each booklet can direct people to my website at jerrybanfield.com where you can read more of my books and schedule a private session with me. All I really need to do is distribute those samples and booklets as widely as possible.
Books like this one provide depth for readers who truly want to understand my life and perspective. Someone who reads several of these Daily Autobiography books will likely feel like they already know me, which naturally leads to deeper conversations if they choose to meet with me in person. That idea feels like the business model I’ve been searching for. The next books in the series—Daily Autobiography Books Seven, Eight, and Nine—lead up to that realization. Consider this a small preview of what’s coming next.
Dating is still evolving as well. I’m not in a relationship at the moment, although several interesting developments have happened that I’m looking forward to sharing in the upcoming books.
One important lesson from this book involves the audio versions. I want to preserve my original voice as much as possible when these books are recorded. At the same time, I learned that going too far with wild tangents and extreme language can make it difficult to release an audiobook without worrying about censorship or distribution problems. My goal moving forward is to keep the honesty and authenticity of my voice while also recognizing that these books may reach a broad audience.
Finishing this book today feels incredibly satisfying. I’m grateful to finally publish it and move forward with the rest of the series.
If you made it all the way through this book, I would genuinely love to hear from you. You can find my phone number on my website when you go to schedule a session with me at JerryBanfield.com. Hearing from readers who finish these books means a lot.
Leaving a review can also make a huge difference in helping other people discover the book.
Thank you for reading, and I hope to see you in the next installment of the Daily Autobiography series.
Sincerely,
Jerry Banfield
