Dominic Williams just explained the future of AI agents and AI infrastructure on the Internet Computer, and it's a huge deal — this is what we actually need crypto for, and it's far ahead of where everybody else is looking. I want to walk through his post and why it solves such a massive real-world problem. This is my take, not financial advice, and I'm all in on ICP.
Every organization becomes an "agentic organization"
Dom's point is that nearly every solopreneur, startup, small business, enterprise, and government department will want to become an agentic organization — and ICP makes that possible. When you hear the AI-agent hype everywhere, this is what you actually need to run it correctly, and you can't just set it up on AWS with a pile of disconnected tools.
The problem with today's stack
Take me as a solopreneur. My data is scattered everywhere — my X account, YouTube, QuickBooks for accounting, bank accounts, ChatGPT and Gemini for research, Canva for marketing. It's a mess of dependencies with my data stuck in different silos, and no AI can actually move through all of it and do real work. A big company has the same problem with Microsoft Teams here and a different tool there, none of it talking to each other. The stack everyone uses is full of complexity and points of failure — one piece goes down and the whole thing can go down.
The world model: AI builds your software around your data
What Dom describes is dramatically more efficient: put all your data into one "world," then let agentic AI build the software you need around it — your own version of a word processor, a spreadsheet, bookkeeping — instead of stitching together QuickBooks, Word, and Excel that don't talk to each other. Employees (or just you) interact with the AI agents, and the agents operate and create the software. Today my workflow is the opposite: ideas in a Word doc, pasted into ChatGPT, output into Gemini for titles, back into ChatGPT, then a thumbnail, then OBS — me manually shuttling data between platforms that don't connect.
Why it can only run on ICP
If you built this on centralized tech, the killer problem is security. Get your "world" hacked, or let one compromised employee or bad data slip in, and everything goes down. On ICP you can isolate employees, permission their interactions, and secure the whole thing on chain. Setting this up without ICP is a nightmare, if it's even possible — and that's the whole point.
Why adoption comes faster than people think
Three forces drive it: it saves money (no more dumping thousands a year into SaaS licenses), it increases security (huge for enterprises sitting on data-breach liabilities), and it makes AI far more effective. Look how fast AI already changed everything — three years ago I made my own rough thumbnails and paid designers $20 each; now AI generates a high-quality thumbnail almost instantly for about $20 a month, and that same efficiency is what Dom is describing at the organizational level. And DFINITY has a track record of shipping what they describe: VET Keys, Chainkey Bitcoin and Ethereum, Caffeine AI — all delivered. When you can auto-migrate legacy systems into something more efficient, secure, and verifiable, it starts to look crazy not to use it.
Governments are already moving
This isn't a someday story. The UAE is talking about running on agentic AI within two years — the president is saying two years, not a decade. Pakistan and Switzerland are public, Liechtenstein too, and Dom notes states are already running trials, with more in private talks. ICP is the only setup that can run all of that securely, always-on, and sovereign from data lock-in. The price action, meanwhile, is illogical on the surface but makes sense as something designed to keep people from finding ICP while the technology races ahead.
The financial revolution gets built on ICP
Once your infrastructure is on ICP, payments come naturally — ICP, stablecoins, Chainkey BTC and ETH, even your own company coin. That's why the XRP/XLM "financial rails" narratives feel hollow to me: nothing significant changes in the financial system until the infrastructure it runs on changes. Build the world on ICP and finance follows. The largest business transformation in history has already begun, and ICP is the only tech I see that can support it.
