Jerry Banfield Gaming Is Back in Action
My friends, for those of you that love Jerry Banfield Gaming, just a couple of days ago, after I said I was done gaming, I've got great news. Jerry Banfield Gaming is back in action. I am not giving up gaming. However, I am giving up live streaming gaming. I will continue to put videos on my Jerry Banfield Gaming channel, but it's really live streaming games that is the problem.
Live streaming games is what leads me to always try and play whatever I can get the most live views on, such as Gods Unchained. I've been playing Gods Unchained most of the last month, and I was getting 70 average views on Twitch, which is awesome. That's about enough to apply for Twitch partner, but it takes too much time. If I play anything besides Gods Unchained on Twitch, hardly anybody watches. If I stream on YouTube, it's the same issue, and it's a time commitment. If I want to stream games, I really need to stream games a lot, because who wants to watch an hour of Jerry Banfield Gaming each week on something like Hogwarts Legacy?
Why Live Streaming Ruined the Fun for Me
Over the years, I've streamed games for probably thousands of hours by now, and it's ruined the fun of gaming for me lots of times. Often the game I want to play versus the game you want to watch live is drastically different, and it's not fun just grinding out games while live streaming.
Let's look at my life situation. I'm not some single guy who lives with his parents. I've got a wife, I've got kids, and I've got a lot of other videos I want to make. If I want to have a balanced lifestyle, I've got about two or three hours a day where I can be up in my studio right here, just filming and recording, and I can play video games during that time as well.
There are lots of these games here that I'd love to play that might make a nice little video. Sometime, I might just want to grind out some Duke Nukem 64, and it's a lot more fun to not play it on live stream. I can just be quiet and play the game, and then if there's some funny moment or reaction, I can leave the camera running and record it, clip that out, and upload a minute or two video. Then, if there's a funny moment real quick, that's something you might actually watch. So I will be continuing with Jerry Banfield Gaming videos.
Am I a Pathological Liar?
I saw a comment on my Apple podcast saying Jerry's a pathological liar. So I asked myself, am I a pathological liar? One day I say I'm done gaming, and the next day I say I'm done gaming, and then the next day I say I'm not done gaming, I'm just done gaming on live stream. And I'm done live streaming completely, too. Live streaming is the most inefficient use of my time. You think I ramble bad on videos? I really ramble on live streams.
I've thought about that with the video I made a couple of days ago saying I'm not gaming anymore. That was what I was thinking that day. To me, I'm absolutely honest. I just tell you whatever I'm thinking that day, and I am also flexible. I thought about quitting gaming entirely and getting rid of all my games, and that doesn't feel right. I still want to play a lot of games. I've got my PlayStation and my Xbox back here, I've got my gaming PC, and I don't want to get rid of those. I want to play some games.
Enjoying the Lifestyle I'm Grateful For
I want to really enjoy my lifestyle. I'm grateful I have so much freedom and flexibility in it, and yet I have not often been enjoying it. I've been grinding really hard at what I do online, like I'm going to run out of money or something, which is not an issue at all, as long as I film videos every day. Some of those videos are really helpful for you, and those videos are fun for me to make.
So if you love the gaming, there are just videos from now on. No more live streams. This way we get either a high quality interaction or you can just watch videos. Live streaming is kind of a low quality interaction, and in my experience it's a big waste of your time. I'd rather you watch a few videos each day instead of spending hours and hours hanging out on one of my live streams watching me play some games. I think it's much more time efficient if I give you a five minute clip of the best moment I had playing games. If you have any questions or you want to go deeper with me on any of this, I'd love to hear from you, and the best place to do that is to join the Jerry Banfield Family.
I really appreciate your love and support. If you're ready for more gaming videos, my Jerry Banfield Gaming channel and my Games playlist will be the best places to get them. I'll also put them on Facebook, on Twitter, and maybe out on TikTok as well, and I'll continue with more updates everywhere else on all my other channels.
