I canceled myself, and here is why
I've been canceled by myself. I put out so many ICP videos and so many price predictions that, up until now, have been blatantly wrong. Last year I quit my channel. This year I deleted all my videos. I'm feeling max frustration with myself as a content creator. I've created all these new channels and deleted them, then created them, then deleted them all over again. What I really need is a strategy I can use going forward that will actually allow me to keep creating instead of tearing everything down.
So here is what I've done. I've rebranded Jerry Banfield Crypto into Jerry Banfield Live, because I'm tired of being a crypto YouTuber first and foremost. I want to be a live YouTuber first and foremost. I'm going to do any kind of live stream on this channel. It could be gaming streams. In the short term I'll still use plenty of crypto live stream titles, thumbnails, and crypto as the main intro topic, but we're going to start doing all kinds of other streams too: Alcoholics Anonymous streams, gaming streams, and more.
The Jerry Banfield Crypto channel is gone as a dedicated crypto channel. What I'm going to do instead is only do live streams on Jerry Banfield Live. If you want to be in the live streams on YouTube, you've now got one channel for that. Then I'm going to put all my recorded videos on the original channel I made. I'll put the crypto videos there, and I'll record crypto videos live, but they're not going to be price hype, price charts, and that kind of crap. They're going to be real, useful tutorials. They'll be analysis. They'll be about whatever you'd like me to make a video about. Just tell me.
Giving back to the people who show up
I'm also going to give out tens of thousands of JBJ, my meme coin, every day that I live stream, to whoever the viewers are that are most helpful in open chat. So if you're here every day and you're one or two of the most memorable people from the live stream, I will give back to you.
I need to say this at the beginning before I forget: I'm not a financial advisor, and this is not financial advice. This is my research, education, and entertainment. I hold at least 5,000 ICP plus OpenChat, Decide AI, and JBJ. One reason I cleaned up my old videos is because I was not consistent with those disclaimers. I was obsessed with clickbait. I was obsessed with whatever I had to do to get views, and I've come to believe that obsession is exactly what led me into all this frustration.
Why ICP isn't moving, and why I won't commit to crypto forever
Somebody asked, why is ICP not moving? I don't know. What I can tell you is that it's the best tech I see in crypto. I use the ICP blockchain every day. But the price is not up to me. I'm not even sure I want to buy any more ICP at this point, since I already hold over one hundred-thousandth of the whole supply myself. My wife just sent me $15,000, so I could easily buy at least 1,000 more ICP. I'd genuinely love to know whether you think I should get more or not, given how much I already have.
My business has absolutely sucked the last few months because of so much negative sentiment around ICP. Pretty much just one guy has scheduled several calls, which has been great, and a couple of others came by, but everything's down. Nobody wants to give out tokens right now. Everybody's in fear. This is exactly why I never want to commit myself to having to do crypto content all the time. In my experience, what really helps in these crypto bear markets, or any time things are down, is to do other stuff. I can't stand the idea of being committed ever again to making ICP or crypto videos every single day on a channel that's all about crypto.
At the same time, this crypto channel, which is now Jerry Banfield Live, is my most active and engaged channel. And I do still want to put videos out. The original Jerry Banfield channel is such a crapshoot in terms of the algorithm, but it will still work for ICP tutorials and things like that. So I'll show up live on Jerry Banfield Live doing all kinds of stuff, and I'll put the recorded videos out on the original channel and on X. I talked to a guy in person who appreciates my X videos, so I'll keep putting them out there to see how they do.
Two channels, one simple plan
There aren't five or six channels anymore. There are live streams and there are my videos. This original channel is the one I made back in 2011, the one I deleted thousands of videos off of. I used to put all the videos and live streams together on it. Now I'm splitting things into two, because the Jerry Banfield Live channel has a better algorithm today and I've already deleted all the old videos off of it, so I might as well just stick with doing live streams there.
I want to shout out a community member, ZeroFUX, who put together an incredible video, an amazing set of clips I wouldn't even have been able to find myself. I shared it on X. If you want to support the community and get a little overview of me over the years, you'll really want to watch it. And if you have crypto videos you want me to film, please tell me what they are. The whole purpose of the live streams is to listen to you, to watch the chat, to be here and talk to you live. If you want a video on something, just tell me what it is.
Somebody said I was a bit unstable, that I'm always doing different things. Well, I'm like water. I move, I flow. I'm not constantly stuck in one spot. I like to keep it moving, and I've never been anything but fluid. Someone asked if I'm gay. I'm bi, although I'm monogamous with my wife right now, so it doesn't really matter what else I might do, but I'm bi. I'm also Black, if you want to ask about other identifications.
People are already asking for help, like getting an open chat wallet set up and setting your preferred chats in open chat. Honestly, I wasn't even sure I knew how to set a preferred chat, but you can drag them up in the window alongside the wallet, so I'm happy to film some tutorials on that. I'll keep filming videos. I'm really happy to have my branding down to just Jerry Banfield and Jerry Banfield Live. No more crypto, gaming, music as separate things. We're just going to do whatever I feel like. Some streams you might get crypto, gaming, music, inspiration, and AA stuff all in one single stream, and I'm really excited to put all of that together. If you want to go deeper on how I think about money and crypto through all of this, you can dig into my Money playlist. I'll wrap this up as a video to put on X, and then we'll keep going with the live stream.
