Why I Quit and RETURNED To Gods Unchained

Why I Quit and RETURNED To Gods Unchained

My friends, I quit Gods Unchained three months ago, and now I'm back. I'll tell you here exactly why I'm back, why I love Gods Unchained, why I quit, and how I ended up coming back.

I found Gods Unchained when they sponsored me to play twice in 2022. I got really excited about the game, and I committed to giving away 10,000 gods, which was $4,000 at the time I bought the 10,000 gods. I started giving away the gods, and my channel on Twitch immediately blew up. Then all these bots kept winning, so we came up with a system where we verified the accounts. I was having a lot of fun playing Gods Unchained. I started playing every day on November 5th, and then on November 26th I did my last stream.

Why I Quit

Here's where I went wrong. I quit Gods Unchained because I was trying to go all in on it. Somebody even made a video about what happened with Jerry Banfield on Gods Unchained. I have not watched that video. I rarely watch videos people make about me. I quit playing Gods Unchained because I was too over-invested in it. I was setting my sights on becoming a professional Gods Unchained player. I had invested $10,000 in Gods Unchained between the 10,000 gods giveaway and then $6,000 of Gods Unchained cards. If you look at my Immutascan, you will see I bought over $6,000 of Gods Unchained cards.

At the same time, I had a $10,000 to $12,000 zero-interest credit card. I had just paid off a $5,000 business loan. And I was running out of cash in the bank. I had literally got myself to a place where I was asking my wife for money just to pay my basic bills, and I was getting really sick of it. So I set my intentions: I'm tired of this self-imposed financial crisis. I want to be a millionaire. I'll do whatever it takes within my value system. I'm not going to screw people over or do things in secret, but I want to operate in a way where I can become a millionaire.

The first thing I needed to do was give myself some time. So I sold the remainder of the gods for the giveaway before I finished it, which was about $2,000 because the price tanked. I had already given away $3,500 or so of the gods. I quit Gods Unchained, sold, and got about $6,000 or so back in the bank, out of the $10,000 I put in, once you factor in the fees for selling the cards. You can see my sell volume is a lot lower than my buy volume. I lost money there and just in the giveaway. But I sold all that and gave myself time, because I was running out of time to fix my own financial situation and getting real sick of asking my wife for money.

Building the Crypto Channel

What I did is I listened to the suggestions of experienced content creators online. I'm a full-time content creator and I've got a lot of freedom, but with that freedom comes a trade-off: if I decide to play Gods Unchained all day, I might make a couple hundred a month. So I started a brand new crypto channel. I was one of the first crypto YouTubers. I quit crypto after getting burnt out on it in 2018. I know it was a bad time to quit, wasn't it? I missed the whole big bull run. I'd easily have been a millionaire. But I came back into crypto after — it's just like everything in life was trying to pull me back to crypto.

This new crypto channel has been blowing up. I did a dedicated video sharing with everyone on my crypto channel why I bought Gods Unchained, and I hope lots more people discover Gods Unchained from it. Most of my videos have been getting thousands of views on my YouTube channel, and I'm very grateful. This channel has been making thousands of dollars a month.

I've put out about 60, 70, 80 videos and live streams on this crypto channel. I show what I'm doing with my crypto investments every day. I show the research I do. And if you want to be in the room where I share all of that, talk with me directly, ask me about a project before you buy into it, and get my feedback and research easily, the best way to do that today is to join the Jerry Banfield Family. In my experience, members can easily save much more than it costs them just by getting a second opinion before they buy in.

Combine that with the ad revenue, and this channel — after a year of struggling with my business online — finally turned things around. Before this, I was all in on Facebook. I got demonetized on Facebook, and that's a whole other story. If you search Jerry Banfield Breakfast Club on YouTube, there's a great video where I explain the Facebook demonetization. Basically my whole business got destroyed, because I had been all in on Facebook for years. I got to be one of the top partners. So my business ran out of money. I quit Gods Unchained to take time to set up a new business, and thanks to this crypto channel, now I can just play Gods Unchained because I enjoy it each day.

Coming Back Without the Pressure

I don't need the pressure anymore. I don't need to have the expectation that I'm going to make a living on Gods Unchained by being a streamer. I can essentially just stream Gods Unchained for fun now. I came back to Gods Unchained for a couple of reasons. One, I felt a ton of excitement, a really strong desire to play, which was really annoying after I sold all those cards. I'm like, God, I just wish I'd kept my Demogorgons, my Ethereals, my Jason, my Martyrs. But you know what? I'm going to get them back. We're going to get them back.

One of the big things that drew me back to play Gods Unchained is a book I read called The Four Agreements. The first agreement is to be impeccable with your word. I told everybody that I was giving away 10,000 gods, and I've given away, including today, 3,650 gods, which leaves 6,350 more gods remaining. As a person, if I say I'm going to do something, I mean it. It's reasonable that I could take a break on the gods giveaway — not an indefinite break, but a break — until I have the financial means. And I bought all these gods today on Coinbase, and I'm still going to make a profit on my business this month. Now that I have the financial means to give this away, now that I can play Gods Unchained without needing any of the income, I can keep my word.

My wife makes six figures. She pays all our main bills. All I need to do is hang out in my studio here and pay my own bills, which are about a thousand a month. I have a six hundred dollar a month debt payment, and it's about four hundred a month for everything else. I'm grateful I can do that now. This crypto channel should let me do that indefinitely. I should be able to just keep putting videos on it, keep helping people, and build my own net worth in crypto as well — and hang out and play Gods Unchained for fun. No more pressure or stress that I have to win every game, get to the top of Mythic, and be a professional. I can just play Gods Unchained, have fun, enjoy the play to earn, give away the rest of the gods I promised, and that's it.

I'm super grateful for how this came together. When I did a live stream yesterday on Twitch and tried to get people to come over to my gaming YouTube, I didn't realize I was about to start playing Gods Unchained again and start streaming on Twitch again. My entire business now: I have a website called Athena that doesn't make much money, maybe a few hundred a month. This is my business — I'm a YouTuber and a Twitch streamer, and there's an ad on my own channel. Then people find their way to me and come talk crypto with me directly. That's the business now.

I've got a new Anubian deck now. It looks like we won 4 out of 5 games with this new Anubian deck, and it's only $73, which is about half of what I've got on here right now. Well, a little less — I've got 125 left. I want to work up to getting all those cards I had back, my friends.

So this is the story, the updated story. I intend to be live on Twitch every day, and while I'm live I'll be recording videos like this that I then put on my different YouTube channels. This one goes on my main channel. My Gods Unchained game highlights will go on my Games playlist on my gaming channel, like when I reviewed Kick. Any tutorials for entrepreneurs, streamers, YouTubers, and content creators go on my business channel. If you're into staying sober, health, and living your best life, those will go on my recovery channel. And of course I've got my crypto channel too. I really appreciate your love and support. This is the story so far, and let's see where we go from here.
