Here's all the equipment I use to film six videos a day quickly. New, it comes to about $10,262, though I bought some of it used. This is the gear; in companion videos I cover how it's all connected and my OBS setup.
The PC comes first
The most important piece is a fast iBuyPower gaming PC (around $2,000). One of the worst things I see creators do is use gear that slows them down — I'm obsessed with not wasting time in my studio, and I'll spend serious money to save it, because time is the most limited resource. The one thing I'd change is getting more storage. I game, stream, and edit in Adobe Premiere Pro all on this machine.
Audio and camera
For audio, an ElectroVoice RE20 into a Rodecaster Duo gives solid sound, plus a Shure SM58 so a guest and I can pass a mic back and forth. The camera is a Sony FX30 cinema camera, which I got bundled with a lens for about $2,300 used on eBay — a higher-quality camera makes my eyes look better and makes the green screen key cleanly. A dummy battery lets it record or stream for 10+ hours without overheating.
Monitors, capture, lighting, and consoles
My main display is a 32-inch Samsung Odyssey 1440p gaming monitor, which makes a big difference over a smaller one. I capture old consoles with an Elgato HD60 and bring the camera in over an Elgato Cam Link 4K, switching scenes with an Elgato Stream Deck XL so I never run out of buttons. The green screen is a rental-friendly pull-up (far better than curtains or a painted wall I can't use). For lighting I have a key light and a soft box — mine's too big, so buy a size down — on a heavy C-stand with sandbags I filled from a hardware store. I keep a PS5 and Xbox for gaming content, a Logitech Brio just for Zoom calls, and the right HDMI 2.1 cables for HDR. Everything's on my Amazon storefront if you want exact models.
