ICP: We Need to Clean House

ICP: We Need to Clean House

My new mission for Internet Computer Protocol is to clean house. For years — except that nine months where I deleted everything — I have made it my mission to find the best technology in crypto and then to invite people from the rest of the world over into ICP. I have brought tens of millions of dollars of capital into this ecosystem. I have seen millions of dollars of it firsthand that people have showed me on calls at jerrybanfield.com. I have brought a ton of value into this community.

And the community wants to collectively — not everybody, but a lot of people with loud, whiny voices — be toxic about doing anything that we can do to make marketing great for ICP by having the Network Nervous System print tokens. People want to make uninformed, uneducated posts. And I've realized my mission going forward needs to be to clean house in this community, because it's insane for me to go around trying to invite people over to my house in ICP and say, look, come over here. It's so nice. We have a great community. We have the best technology. Come join us on ICP. And then when they come in the house, the house is dirty. The house is not being maintained properly. The house is a mess. It's chaos. It's got a bunch of people in it that scam you and rip you off — all kinds of these SNS projects that many of you all supported, ripping off the people that I brought into the ecosystem. You threw all kinds of money at them. And you don't think we should print a tiny amount of money for marketing?

Never Retract a Statement

Good. I'm going to go after this ecosystem. I'm going to clean house here every day. I laugh getting a message saying — let me read this ridiculous message: "I'm a huge advocate for ICP. You've backed yourself into a corner. DFINITY doesn't need you. It would be better for you to retract your statement now." You make me laugh. You know what I've learned? Never retract a statement. No matter how anybody else reacts to it, never retract a statement. Never apologize. That makes you a weak person who didn't believe in what you said before. You can always gently pivot and update your message. But never, ever retract — because that's bowing down to authority. And authority has no legitimacy. It is power. It is mind control. There's no legitimacy.

DFINITY hasn't been paying me anything for two years to do all the videos I've done about ICP. So I'm free to say whatever I want. If DFINITY wants me to go back to bringing millions of dollars into this ecosystem, then DFINITY can support a proposal — or make the proposal — to have the Network Nervous System create money for a marketing fund, which I've done several videos explaining. And until then, my mission is to clean house. Nobody's going to pay me to bring people into this house? Good. I'm going to clean it. And I'm going to clean up every different aspect. You make a post that looks ignorant and uninformed, I'm going to go after you. And I'm going to thoroughly enjoy it. I'm going to go after you for max rage bait and max drama.

If you want to support me — if you want to know that you are on the side of making ICP great again (God, that makes me sound like somebody, doesn't it?) — understand this: ICP sucks right now, and it's because of all the voices that are making uninformed posts, that are just shitposting and not thinking at all, not doing any kind of self-analysis. And then you do have people that are thoughtful who are listening to them, and then thinking that they have better things to say than me. If you want to let me know you're on my side, we need to get together and clean this community up, because this has become a shithole, and I am embarrassed to invite anybody into a community that's writing as dumb of things as I see — a community in such a scarcity mindset that "well, we can't afford to print any more tokens for marketing." That's stupid. I'm going to destroy you.

If you want the price of ICP to go up, you should be on my side, because I'm one of the few people who's contributed to the price going up. I'm one of the few people who's brought a lot of money into ICP and not drained the ecosystem with their SNS projects and their garbage coins and their meme coins and their scams. I am one of the people who's actually helped the price go up — and that is worth compensating and expanding. If you're on my side, go to jerrybanfield.com and join the chat. We need to all organize and take on all of the stupid shit in this community and clean it up, and make sure that nobody who has a brain is listening to any of these people that are garbage posting — that anybody who wants ICP to be successful is listening to me and to other creators like Bobby and Alex. And I understand they've got their own things they're doing — I'm happy to take on the community myself. I'm going to clean house, and I don't need anybody else to support me except the people in the jerrybanfield.com chat. If you support me, then I care what you have to say. If you don't support me, I'm going to do everything I can to intellectually wreck you, because I do have a very intelligent mind, and I also know how to use AI, and between the two of those things I operate at a level of thinking that is worthy of being followed. If you are listening to people with this just absolute drone level of thinking, then you are screwing yourselves up. I am out here to get a hold of everybody in the community and organize and make sure that DFINITY hears what they really need to hear.

Dominic Williams Should Not Be Listening to the Community

See, I like Dominic Williams. Some of the people at DFINITY, they do care about the community. They do want to listen to you. But even they are getting influenced by a bunch of these people in the community who are just shitposting. For example, when Dominic Williams put up a poll asking — if you're following somebody, would it be reasonable for the person you're following to get one percent of your voting maturity? — the community came out and destroyed that. That needs to be cleaned up. You're telling me that you are so greedy that you want to follow somebody, do nothing, and get a hundred percent of the voting rewards for doing nothing? Dominic Williams should not be listening to the community on this. Dominic Williams should not be listening to people voting in that poll, because the people voting in that poll are not worth listening to — you're not thinking critically, you're purely in this greed scarcity mindset, and you haven't thought seriously. It is valuable when someone takes their time to place thoughtful votes. That is extremely valuable, and it's worth compensating at at least ten percent, let alone one percent. So Dominic Williams killed that idea. Dominic Williams needs people that he can listen to in the community — people that have the best interest of ICP in mind and have the brain power to understand things like business and marketing, and then how do we put that together.

I am so excited to clean house. I deleted everything a year ago because it seemed like too much of an effort to clean house, and I wasn't personally in a strong enough position to take on the whole community myself. Now think about the level of strength I have. How many of you would come out and take on thousands of people, intentionally, on purpose, and know that I am strong enough? It doesn't matter how many people say how many things against me — I am immune to that. And I'm going to look for and find every person that wants ICP to succeed and help us better organize. If you care about ICP, if you want the price to go up, if you believe the stuff I've said about it, then you need to stop listening to every single person who's posting things against me. Unfollow them and avoid even seeing what they have to say. The only way I see the various things people have to say is so I can use it as material to then destroy that intellectual argument. Now, I'm not talking about any individual people as people — I'm talking about destroying the content and the intellectual arguments, or the lack of intellect in the argument. I'm looking at getting the narratives and the conversation to a higher, more intelligent level in ICP, because the conversation, at least in public, is at an ignorant level — and we deserve the price we have today in ICP with the way people are posting: the scarcity mindset, the refusal to fund marketing.

The Polls That Prove the Problem

Bobby posted a perfect example — a poll talking about, look, this is what we need to clean up in the community: should DFINITY pay crypto analytics firms $25K or more a year to report ICP analytics, which is nearly worthless? Sixty-eight percent of people voted no. But DFINITY is already doing it. They've been doing it, as far as we can see. Here's another one: sixty-six percent of people voted no — should we be paying $100K plus a year to a social media manager who, as far as I can see, drives almost no value and brings almost no money? I mean, it makes sense, you know, it's reasonable — but DFINITY is already shelling out. They've already spent hundreds of thousands of dollars paying a social media manager. And then the comments around that? Absolutely insane. People are like, oh my God, I don't know what to do with this. Oh, well, I don't think they need to, but oh, well, it's DFINITY paying someone, that's fine, I just thought it was content creators. This is insane. DFINITY already has enough marketing that they should be doing on their own to governments. DFINITY should not be responsible for doing retail-level marketing — the blockchain should be. That is the right position. That is the abundant position. That is the position of proper business understanding. Any position besides this is not in the best interest of ICP. Any position that is in such a scarcity mindset that we can't print 0.2 percent more tokens to pay for some proper marketing, to compensate people like me — that is scarcity thinking, and it should be completely ignored.

And I'm here to help. Some of you are not thinking deeply, but some of you, when you hear me talk for a while, will realize: oh, Jerry's right about ICP and the technology, and Jerry's right about the business marketing of ICP, and the vast majority of the community is ignorant, uninformed, and wrong — which you should generally expect online. I am here to clean house, and I want to know who are the people who support me. I need to be listening to you, and I want you to give me the best arguments to destroy. I am going to do nothing else with my ICP videos, even as I watch my follower count go down for the first time on X — because you can't handle the truth. You can't handle the truth that all kinds of money has been spent to market ICP. I've only got $25,000 of it, meanwhile tens of millions of dollars has been wasted trying to promote ICP through ineffective things like hubs and SNS projects.

Time to Organize

Those SNS projects took money and ripped people off — and people got mad when I called that out. When I said Yuku AI was ripping people off, people got mad at that. People got hot when I called out these other projects as just ripping investors off. People got mad. So it's time to organize, and I need to know everybody who's in my corner, and we're going to take on and clean up the rest of this ecosystem. And by cleanup, I mean control the conversation. The conversation needs to be maximizing intelligent, business-forward, price-moving-upward arguments — and absolutely destroying, minimizing, hiding, ignoring, and unfollowing anything besides that. Anything besides something like a marketing budget directly by the Network Nervous System. If you are not in favor of that, you do not care about the ICP price going up. You have not thought about the importance of marketing. You have not looked at the rest of crypto and seen that the only reason most of these coins have a higher price and a bigger market cap than ICP is marketing. That is the only reason. There's no other reason that a junk coin that can't do anything technically compared to ICP would have a higher market cap, a higher price, and more visibility — except marketing. It's insane to think that we're going to go anywhere without proper marketing. And it's clearly proven that DFINITY is ineffective at doing retail, more commercial marketing. DFINITY is very effective at doing government, very high-level, connection-and-networking-based marketing — they are doing great at that. They have utterly failed at reaching the masses. In fact, it was just word of mouth — people talking to me — that produced the reaction I felt organizing in this community, in the chat.

If you're not in the chat community, you don't exist to me. I can't see what you're saying unless someone in the chat community posts something that I should FUD and destroy. If you want to support me — I will emphasize, if you want to support me — show off the posts you make in the chat community, and I will show you support. I will show that you are on the side of ICP. I would like to finish this house-cleaning process as soon as possible, but I refuse to invite anybody else into this community until we clean up the intellectual arguments. See, I want to separate people from posts, because people can change what they're posting overnight — but we need to change what people are posting in this community. We've been rewarding shitposting. We've been rewarding arguments that have no logical thought, no research behind them — purely visceral, "more inflation, no." We've been rewarding crap like that. It's time to shut that shit down, and it is time to step up what we're doing here.

I refuse to invite anybody into ICP. I refuse to say anything nice to the rest of crypto about ICP until we clean our fucking house here. I've laid out the full case for ICP's technology and the Network Nervous System marketing fund across the videos in my ICP Crypto playlist — the arguments are all there.

So let's clean house. Let's get our shit together so that we can prove we deserve something better than a destroyed, rug-pulled chart and a team that's working hard on technology that gets actively suppressed as much as possible. We can change that with marketing. So join me at jerrybanfield.com, and let's clean house.
