Internet Computer Protocol is taking on the entire tech industry. It's absolutely insane how many different entities, enterprises, and business systems all stand to lose everything from Internet Computer being adopted. Crypto — all of crypto — stands to either get wrecked or move onto ICP for its survival. Almost all the other coins are threatened by the growth of ICP, because ICP can do everything all of them can do and a bunch more, like putting everything fully on the blockchain, which they can't do. Not just that, though. What's crazy to look at is that ICP can compete with Amazon — where you've got people getting off of Amazon, and enterprises and governments pulling their hosting off of Amazon and putting it on ICP — or it can cooperate with Amazon. Let me explain how all this works.
ICP Can Replace the Existing Internet Stack
First, right now, what's different about Internet Computer Protocol is that it's been built so it can replace the existing internet stack. You run different nodes on ICP, which will soon have much more flexibility with cloud engines. Then, from the blockchain itself, you can serve websites directly. Therefore you can have the backend, the data, the code — everything — in smart contracts: content delivery, hosting, all of it in the blockchain infrastructure. And that's huge, which means ICP is set up to replace the existing internet stack.
That's a huge threat to all of crypto, which is basically speculation and hype and big promises while the technology remains extremely limited. That's why ICP has been crucified and suppressed inside of crypto — because it's so advanced that it puts everything else in jeopardy. ICP is in a position now to put all other layer ones out of business. And the best case scenario for things like Bitcoin and Ethereum is that they start being used on ICP as a layer two — that you build transactions, or you build everything, on ICP with AI, and then you transact Chain-Key Bitcoin and Chain-Key Ethereum and Chain-Key anything else.
Crypto certainly can have a thriving future on ICP. You can do everything with crypto — like launch meme coins and have DeFi. You can do all of it better, much safer, much more secure, verifiable, and build all of it with AI directly on ICP. That's one thing. So ICP can both replace the existing internet infrastructure and extend existing crypto infrastructure. To me, this is what's going to happen: once the insiders see that ICP's time has come — enough of us have figured out what's happening — they're going to push their positions into ICP, and all the other blockchains are either just going to die off, or, like Bitcoin and Ethereum, will continue on to some degree and be mass adopted through transactions on ICP via Chain-Key Bitcoin or Chain-Key Ethereum. A lot of these other wrapped tokens and things will die. They'll get hacked. They'll collapse. But ICP will offer incredible functionality.

Web-speed interfaces — you already have all of this. You can use AI right now to build some kind of Ethereum trading site if you wanted to, where you could launch your own coins and trade all of them against Chain-Key Ethereum in real time for almost no fees. You could just go use Claude, plug in an ICP CLI, and build all of that right now if you felt like it. And hardly anybody knows that right now. So ICP is set to extend functionality and secure a lot of the rest of crypto, because you can build all the stuff you can't build on Bitcoin and Ethereum — which is almost everything that's built off of Bitcoin and Ethereum. Today, most of it lives off-chain, and then maybe occasionally there's a little interface with the blockchain. That's when all those pop-ups come up in your window, or when you have to do two-factor to pull the Bitcoin off of Coinbase. ICP can do all of that on a decentralized infrastructure, and you can do it all in one single wallet. The best place, to me, to hold your Bitcoin and Ethereum is in something like the OISY wallet or the Network Nervous System on ICP, because then you've minimized your trust assumptions to any third parties.
The Software Companies That Stand to Get Annihilated
Now, the next thing that almost nobody sees about how dangerous ICP is: there are all these software companies that stand to get annihilated by ICP. This is a bit further in the future. Shorter term, ICP is out here to wreck crypto — ICP is just going to be the apocalypse for the rest of crypto. For a lot of layer ones and junk coins, that'll be it: they'll go to zero, they'll quit their projects. But lots of projects are just going to move everything they're doing with crypto onto ICP. They'll launch SNS coins. They'll make their meme coin trading platform on ICP. They'll build applications to swap Bitcoin and Ethereum and launch Solana meme coins — but they'll build all of it on ICP. Some of that building has already happened, and nobody's publicizing it yet. If you're trying to get liquidity out of Solana and you're using ICP as infrastructure, you'd probably keep that quiet so you could get your product out there — because ICP is so suppressed, and if you even mention that it's on ICP, you'll be suppressed, because these other ones are scared of it.
But the craziest thing is what ICP is lined up against right now — huge things like Microsoft 365, for example. Right now I have a Microsoft 365 subscription and I use Microsoft Word. And what DFINITY just came out with is something they're calling AIWare, which Dominic Williams posted about on X. This is what's crazy: this information is just sitting out there, waiting for you to understand what a big deal it is. Dom's post says it's coming soon with the release of cloud engines — open SaaS packs, a dozen on-chain services for running an enterprise, free forever, AI native, and simply better. Setup is as easy as installing a phone app, and they're remixable. A hundred thousand people saw this, so it's not exactly secret, but almost no one understands what it means. And I personally am observing this effect now — this is not something I'm just pulling out of the dark.

Here's what I want you to see about ICP. Right now you have huge apps like Salesforce, WooCommerce, cPanel, and WordPress. These are gigantic, gigantic things that stand to go to zero — to get annihilated by what Dominic Williams just posted.
What My Website Used to Cost Me — and How It Runs Now
Up until the last few years, since I've been on ICP, here's what my setup looked like. When I initially got on ICP, a developer was kind enough to build me a static website for free, but it was annoying because I couldn't go change it — I had to have that developer go change the code. So I eventually moved my website off ICP because I wanted to be able to change it, and it was stuck. I moved to some cheap host that was like $50 a year, and it was just a single landing page. I did that because I wanted to keep things cheap and I just needed a landing page. But I used to have a massive blog on WordPress — a website with thousands of blog posts that I eventually deleted because I was tired of paying $100 a month and having to do it all over again. WordPress updates, then trying to sell something on my website with WooCommerce. I had to pay $100 a month for Kinsta, which then goes through Google Cloud. Then I had to pay for some WordPress theme, use WordPress and deal with all those updates, depend on Kinsta to provide security, and use WooCommerce to try and sell anything on my website. Do you see how much stuff I was depending on?
Now look at how I've got things set up currently. I just ran this on the video I did — a top 50 layer one crypto review. I recorded a video on OBS called I Review Every Top 50 Layer One Coin in 25 Minutes, which is basically an ICP promo video where I use all the other coins to try and get traffic — and that's working pretty well. I drag this video into a folder for long videos. I then type in Claude, I type in slash long videos, and Claude then runs all on its own on my $200-a-month subscription. It puts the entire content of the video into an AI reference file. It creates a metadata file for me to use to upload to YouTube, including a thumbnail. And then it cranks out a blog post — one time it deviated a bit from the content of the video, but it cranked out a 4,000-word blog post with 95% retention of the material. I just did a bunch of gaming videos the same way, and one of the blog posts came from a gaming video where I'm wearing a pink tube top — I did that like five years ago, and it was so crazy and so funny. I just drag these videos in, and it cranks out blog posts on the blockchain. I finally figured out how you don't have to re-update all 2,000-plus assets — the blog posts plus the thumbnails.
I've talked a bit windy on that to get you to understand something: ICP just eliminated the need for me to use WordPress. I can take payments straight with crypto on my website if I want to. I use Skool for my community, because while I could try to build the whole community myself, the AI is at a certain level right now — and here's where that line sits.
I've looked at trying to build in Stripe payments and all of that functionality myself, and getting all of it to work — and then you have to create your own account for everything. It's not worth it currently. But as the AI continues to advance further, at some point I will take that piece in-house too.

Why I Use Skool for My Community Right Now
My community is hosted on Skool right now. It has built-in video hosting, it's got members, it's got a lot of features and functionality. Right now, AI is not quite to the point where it makes sense for me to build my own version of it myself, and so many other YouTubers already have it. So I'm going to use Skool communities. It's kind of like OnlyFans for business — a lot of YouTubers already are sending people to Skool, so you might already have a Skool account. And it already has a mobile app built into the App Store also.
For this specific use case, ICP needs to advance a bit further with video hosting. You can do it, but it's been a little clunky when I've used it — the infrastructure needs to advance a little bit more there. And the AI needs to advance a little bit more in building all this stuff out and then being able to call all the APIs and everything.
But what you can see is that right now, the AI and ICP are advanced enough to replace WordPress, to replace my Google Cloud hosting, to replace the WordPress theme I used to use, and to just automatically drop a new blog post in. And the big benefit is that this is hosted on the blockchain. I only pay when you actually go to my website, which is such an advanced model — and it's possible because of the blockchain.
As Disruptive as Social Media Was
ICP looks to be a gigantic disruption. Social media was an innovation of the internet that was a gigantic disruption to how everything's done online. Do you remember before there were influencers? There didn't used to be. There were people like me who just made videos at home and printed money online — that was new. And it eliminated a lot of other things and other influence: it knocked down the amount of people watching TV dramatically, and it created all this new abundance. ICP is set up to do the same kind of thing.
Right now, ICP has already, for me, eliminated a bunch of centralized software systems. But for enterprises that want to use cloud engines, this will be even more dramatic. While I'm saving over $100 a month hosting my website on ICP — eliminating WordPress and all this other crap, and eliminating the ability to be censored from the Google Cloud platform if they didn't like what I was doing, or just having to pay more money to sit there and give Google the way their hosting is set up — enterprises have much more money they can save than me. I'm saving like $100 a month. Imagine a company being able to save millions of dollars a month on all these things they're paying for, and get control of their data back.
When I had my website hosted on Kinsta via the Google Cloud, I was depending on all of them, and if anything broke, I had an issue. There was always some security update or some theme update. Things would always screw up, because when you have all this stuff, it just takes one thing screwing up. And that's why I finally deleted my website: I got tired of having a 1,200-plus-page website that would always screw up. You'd have to update a theme, and then it would go slow, and then if you tried to change everything, it was a nightmare.
Taking On All of Crypto and Big Tech at Once
So ICP is taking on the entire industry. That doesn't mean ICP's beaten them. But it means ICP is taking on all of crypto, and it's also taking on the gigantic tech industry as a whole. Microsoft, Google, Amazon — their infrastructure can continue to be used on ICP. But a lot of the services they offer, and all these other services built around them, are going to be unnecessary once enterprises, businesses, and solopreneurs like me see how much money ICP saves, see how much security ICP provides, and see how simple it is.
AI Is the Game-Changing Factor
And AI is accelerating all of this. AI is the game-changing factor. Before AI was so good, it was hard to use ICP — like three years ago, I couldn't just put my website on ICP. But now it's so easy. It is so easy. All you need to do is install Ubuntu, and the AI will tell you exactly how to do it. If you download the ChatGPT app on your desktop, or you have Claude, they will tell you exactly how to get the command line set up. I know the command line might be a little scary, but once you get used to it, it does some really powerful stuff. I give AI my video ideas, it tells me the best avenue, and it helps me do everything. ICP and AI are just an incredible team.
