AI Will Do the Best Crypto Research You've Ever Seen — If You Let It
AI will help you do the absolute best research in crypto, and if you are not using it, you are missing out. You are at a serious risk of getting wrecked in your crypto portfolio. I would imagine that if you used ChatGPT, especially the pro model, and gave it every single coin you have — and told it to roast and research the actual documentation behind your portfolio — for most of you, ChatGPT's answer would be that your crypto portfolio sucks. Sucks based on the research, the opportunities, and the alternatives available.
I'm going to give you seven questions here that you can use to help AI do research for you. AI right now has the ability to cut through all the BS in crypto, but you've got to ask it the right questions, and you need to have the AI discuss where things are going in the future.
Here are some examples of the kind of research you can produce with AI. And if you're not producing this kind of research with AI, in my opinion you have no business investing in crypto — not financial advice. You have no business trading coins. You don't know what you're doing, and you're at a very high risk of losing everything.
Here's an example of the research you can produce with AI, and I'll tell you the exact kind of prompt I gave it. I used ChatGPT Pro to look through the documentation of 100 of the top crypto blockchains and rank them by technology using an objective zero-to-one score system on what the actual technology can do. That means the AI produced 10,000 answers to zero-to-one questions — 100 questions, the same questions for every blockchain, for 100 of the top blockchains. This is the kind of research you should be doing if you have more than a couple of dollars in crypto — especially if you can afford to be sitting there with ten-plus thousand dollars in crypto. Many of you are scheduling calls with me, and you can also join the Jerry Banfield Family — come in, post your crypto portfolio, and ask questions. If you need help, I'll put your portfolio in an AI and have it give you the response and roast your portfolio. Because if you don't know this kind of information, you are way behind the most advanced people — like me, and like some of the big money in crypto — who are looking beyond the surface. All the narratives being handed to you in crypto are shallow and, in my experience, are meant to rip you off. And if you haven't seen that by now in crypto, you might want to see it before you lose more money.
The research I'm describing lives on a website at cryptotechcap.com, built off a single ChatGPT prompt. And it cuts through to a truth about crypto that most people don't want to hear: most of these blockchains can hardly do anything. They are fundamentally useless technologically. Which gets us back to the questions you should really be asking.
Question 1: What Problem Does This Project Solve, and Who Will Pay for It?
The first thing you should be asking is: what problem does this project solve, and who will pay for it? Most projects in crypto don't really solve any problem — or they don't solve any problem that a hundred other projects haven't already tried to solve. If you look at the world, some of the biggest companies solved big problems before anybody else even knew to try, or they came out with a solution like Google. Google Search was utterly dominant in the problem it solved compared to everybody else. It simply solved a very real problem: people wanted to find stuff on the internet, and Google came up with a solution so far better than everybody else's that it gained dominant market share. Then Google solved the problem of advertisers wanting to reach people on the internet with their message — it bought an advertising company and integrated ads into its search. This is what you should be thinking about in crypto. My hair is standing up as I say this, because this is the information you need in crypto: what problem does this project solve, and who will pay for it? Who is going to finance that? How are the economics going to be set up?
Question 2: What Is Actually On Chain?
Second question: what is actually on chain versus what is controlled by companies, servers, bridges, or administrators? In my view it is insane to invest in things where most of the value is not on chain. Take something like Chainlink, for example. Almost all the value is off chain. Almost everything is controlled by companies, servers, bridges, and administrators that are off the chain — there's just a token sitting on a chain and everything else is off chain. The AI will cut through all of that and tell you the truth, and this is what you need to know, especially when crypto is going down. Many of you are just sitting there hoping you can sell at a profit someday. To me, that's insane. The ideal thing to do is to rotate into the best opportunities based on very strong fundamentals that cut into the real truth about the sustainable business system behind a project.
Question 3: Who Can Change, Pause, Censor, Upgrade, or Drain the System?
You should be asking the AI: who can change, pause, censor, upgrade, or drain the system? Something like Hyperliquid is not at all decentralized from what I can see. If you ask the AI to dig into this, it will tell you things like: the Hyperliquid website is off chain, not on chain. That means any claim about it being decentralized is, in my opinion, totally delusional — because the controllers, the foundation, can control and censor and do anything they want on the website sitting between the user and the blockchain. It means they can tell people in the USA, like me, that we're not even allowed to use it. That's not decentralized. To me, that completely shuts down the entire premise of the project. And AI can instantly give you answers to this. You don't have to trust some person like me. Sure, you might end up trusting AI, but AI is there to be a research tool that you then combine with your own discernment.
Question 4: Who Owns the Token Supply, and When Can They Sell?
For example, you should be asking: who owns the token supply, and when are they able to sell it? Research something like Hyperliquid and you'll find out they have gigantic token unlocks that make the things they're saying about the burn sound ridiculous by comparison. You can research all of that, and then you can compare different cryptos to each other. Say: compare the tokenomics of ICP at a roughly one billion dollar market cap versus Hyperliquid at tens of billions — with tens of billions more that aren't even unlocked yet — and tell me which of those looks like a better investment opportunity.
Question 5: What Exploits, Governance Failures, and Unresolved Criticisms Exist?
You should have the AI be a skeptic, too. If you are excited about a project, you need to stop being excited about that project and look at everything that sucks about it — and the AI will help you do that. The AI will help you see what exploits, governance failures, and unresolved technical criticisms exist. These exist with every project, and if you're holding a coin, you should know about them. For example: while Bitcoin has hardly had any exploits or outages in its entire history, the governance is quite an issue at this point. You've got a handful of people sitting on the core Bitcoin GitHub who are going to be responsible for deciding the future of the quantum upgrades and more. And my God, the unresolved technical criticisms that exist for Bitcoin are practically unlimited. In my opinion it is technically nearly useless — and there's this mountain of "decentralized" stuff that has been built interfacing with the blockchain, where almost everybody gets their value captured interfacing with that layer and never even touches the blockchain itself.
These are things AI can help you learn. And if you honestly realize, while you're talking to AI, "oh, I'm a bit of a dummy when it comes to crypto" — good. A lot of people go around in crypto thinking they're so smart, but when you start looking into this stuff, you'll realize, "I don't even understand what it just said." Then the AI can sit there and explain it to you like you're a baby, and then you can learn. Because what you need to do in crypto is learn.
Why I Say Most Crypto Portfolios Suck
Most of you — and I hate to say this, but as a man generally talking to other men, one of the best ways to talk to other men is to challenge you — most of you don't know what you're doing at all with crypto investing. And if you did know what you were doing, your portfolio would indicate that. Having seen a whole bunch of your crypto portfolios, in my opinion, most of them suck. If you asked the AI to research your portfolio and look at all the liabilities, the downsides, the market caps, the token unlocks, the technical issues, and the real problems each project actually solves, the AI would tell you your crypto portfolio sucks too.
If you're sitting there with a bunch of Bitcoin and Ethereum, I believe your crypto portfolio sucks. You are holding something built on all this other stuff that has no sustainable revenue model, that is based on hype and marketing that could collapse very easily, and that depends on huge amounts of people buying something they don't even understand based on a lack of research. In my opinion, that's not going to last forever. I've come to believe Bitcoin and Ethereum are in a bubble, and that they don't solve real problems for the world — because they can't solve them with just a blockchain. You have to have all the centralized stuff built on top, which basically mirrors our existing system. If your portfolio is mostly Bitcoin and Ethereum, I don't think you know what you're doing in crypto investing — and let me tell you that with love, because in my view there are better opportunities than Bitcoin and Ethereum in crypto. Way better opportunities. I've done huge videos on this.
Most of you are scared to even look at anything that disagrees with your current point of view. You should not be scared to ask AI to tell you why you are absolutely clueless, because this is how you learn. Here's an example of the research you can do: go through and review all 50 top AI coins and tell me which one is different from all the others. The AI says ICP is different. This is the research. And when the AI is saying ICP is different — I only hold ICP, because all the documents and all these questions I'm showing you are answered in a dominant position by ICP. This information is different when AI knows this stuff. People who are advanced in crypto research are finding it too, and in my opinion they're silently accumulating ICP while the price is being artificially suppressed and every effort is made to distract.
For example, if you're holding Ethereum, I made a 35-minute video where I asked AI to absolutely roast Ethereum and find every bear case for it. If you're holding Ethereum, you should be aware of all the bear cases. There are very serious bear cases that I don't see how Ethereum is going to overcome.
Roast Every Coin You Hold
I don't see how Ethereum overcomes those bear cases outside of blatant market manipulation, hype, and people being absolutely naive and refusing to use AI for research. If you're holding Bitcoin, I did the same thing — a livestream roasting Bitcoin absolutely to zero, because in my opinion it's just not sustainable. That one was 54 minutes with a 70-some page research paper: Bitcoin is built for a world that no longer exists. XRP, same kind of research — a $69 billion market cap earning about $360 a day in fees. These are the things you can find with AI when you do the right research.
Almost all of you, in my opinion, have crypto portfolios that are going to get wrecked in 90-plus percent of scenarios. Almost all of you are holding tokens that do not have asymmetric potential — where asymmetric means huge possible returns and very low realistic risk. ICP, to me, is the most asymmetric crypto investment I see.
Question 6: How Does It Compare With Its Strongest Competitors on Measurable Facts?
When you start asking questions, look at this one: how does ICP compare with the three strongest competitors on measurable facts? The AI can cut through all the BS that people will give you. I have research showing how ICP measures up against the top 99 competitors on measurable facts, according to the documentation. What you can do with AI is have it actually read the documentation. You don't have to trust some BS influencer telling you things — you can now have AI go read the actual documentation for you. On this one, the AI went through the actual documentation for ICP, for Polkadot, Kusama, Tezos — all of them. It took hours for the AI to read all of that documentation, and it cuts through all the BS and lies that people have been incentivized to tell you. That output is why I say your crypto portfolio sucks.
Because if you're thinking speculation, ask the AI: is speculation in crypto going to be sustainable into the future? At what point will speculation not work anymore? At what point will people just buying Bitcoin and hoping the price goes up not work anymore? How much longer do we have before AI gets so advanced that everybody knows to use it for crypto research, and they stop listening to everybody except people like me who have really authentic content that is so far ahead of almost all the other liars and clueless people in the space? In my opinion there's no reason to watch anybody besides me or Blockchain Pill or Bobby O or Zero to Hero or Michael Duffy — the handful of people who are onto the most exciting opportunity in crypto. If you're not onto the most exciting opportunity in crypto, nothing you say matters. And AI will help you get to this point yourself.
Question 7: What Would Have to Become True for This Project to Matter in Five Years?
Here's the final question: what would have to become true for this project to matter in five years — and what would destroy that thesis? By this test, almost every single crypto falls apart. What would have to be true for Bitcoin to matter in five years is that people remain utterly clueless, that technology like ICP gets no adoption even though it solves huge real-world problems and looks like it has massive adoption coming, and that people continue to blindly throw their money into narratives. Yes, you see how negative that is. Sure, it could play out. But there are so many more negative scenarios — so many more things that destroy the thesis than support it. When you look into Bitcoin and Ethereum with this kind of research, and especially the other layer ones and all these other coins, the things that would destroy the thesis outweigh the things that would support it. But you've got people who are paid to show you coins they've accepted and are waiting to sell when the price goes up — so they have to show you those coins — and people with no conviction who will dump the coins as soon as they get paid and then say what they're supposed to say.
I'm holding and constantly accumulating ICP because, according to ChatGPT's research, according to the huge amount of research I've done myself since 2012 — 14 years in crypto, and the huge amount of research I've done with AI, everything fully supports my belief that ICP is the utterly dominant, deserves-to-be-number-one project in crypto — and that everything else in crypto is designed to bury ICP and to rip off people who don't do this kind of research.
Give the AI Your Portfolio and Ask the Hard Questions
With AI, average, ordinary people can do this. Give the AI your portfolio and tell it to come from a critical point of view. Tell it to look for the most asymmetric investment in the top 100 with the hugest upside — the most undervalued, the biggest outlier, the one that solves real-world problems based on the actual documentation, not some joker out there lying to you so they can make a profit. Ask the AI to compare your crypto portfolio to the opportunity cost of missing something like ICP, where I believe ICP has the potential to 100-plus X — it could 1000X, and based on the raw technology I think it should be the top crypto today. Ask AI how long crypto is going to continue purely on speculation, hype, and empty narratives. Especially ask AI how long crypto can keep sustaining all these narratives when the future of content creation is looking bleak, because AI makes most content creation irrelevant today. When AI can instantly give you answers, why would you watch some fool talk about a price chart and say the same thing they said in their last 100 videos, when the AI will just give you real-time research based on actual documentation?
I'm telling you, you need to learn to research with AI today, and you need to ask critical questions. You can ask for all the bear cases too. I've asked ChatGPT to rip the Internet Computer apart — give me everything I need to know, every bear case, tell me everything that sucks about it. For every coin in your portfolio, you should be having AI roast your coin and tell you everything that sucks. If your stomach doesn't twist by the end of that, and you're not totally paralyzed with fear and anxiety, then maybe that's a sign you have a decent crypto portfolio. But ask yourself: would you feel right if your coin went to zero? The only way you can feel decent about that is if you know you've done every bit of research. And if the world is so screwed up that research and logic and value to humanity don't matter, then I'll go to zero with ICP. If all my research and everything I do somehow doesn't work out in the long term, I'll pay for it. I refuse to be on board with any of these other cryptos, because all my research indicates they suck — and they suck based on the blockchain technology itself.
If you don't understand what I'm talking about, talk to AI until you understand what I mean. When you're holding Bitcoin on an exchange, you don't even know if you have real Bitcoin or not — in most cases you're not even interacting with the Bitcoin blockchain. When you're sitting there with Ethereum in a MetaMask wallet, you're in a very vulnerable position where there are a hundred different ways to steal your Ethereum from you, and many of those would take you totally by surprise, plus all kinds of other ways you could lose it. When you're on a hardware wallet, there are all kinds of things that could go wrong, and you're holding something the average person is never going to go to that degree of effort to custody. When you're on ICP, the masses around the world could use ICP and not even know it. In my view, if you're not invested in something like that, you are out of position for the future — and opportunities like ICP now, or Bitcoin in 2014, don't hang around forever.
So use AI and sharpen your research skills. We've got a community, and I've made it affordable so that anyone can join. I do not read the YouTube comments anymore — if you want my attention, you will pay for it. You can say whatever you want in the comments; I'm going to stop filtering and hiding and getting upset about them. If you want to talk to me and ask questions, join the Jerry Banfield Family — my research documents are sitting in there for you, ready to go.
If you want to see more of this research in action, coin by coin, you can watch my Crypto Reviews playlist. I appreciate you reading, and I hope to see you soon.
