Infinite Lives on Terminator 2 for NES
You're about to experience something hilarious: me playing Terminator 2 with infinite lives to see how long I can even stand to play it. I'm using a Game Genie on Nintendo, and the code is SXOATOVK — that gives you infinite lives in the game. And believe me, this game is hard, so you really need infinite lives. I've played it before, and I could only last about ten minutes before I died. Level two is absolutely brutal on this game, so I know what I'm getting into.
Somebody joked, "don't let Superman see the Game Genie part." Exactly — my fellow YouTuber Superman was playing this game too, and honestly you got farther than him. I've played this before and this game drove me insane before I got infinite lives. So now what are you gonna do, game? What are you gonna do? Yeah, run my ass over — I don't give a shit, I got infinite lives. The real question is how long I can even stand to keep playing this game. You know what I'm saying?
Do I have an OG Xbox? No — an Xbox One is the oldest Xbox I have right now. And let me know if you want more Terminator 2 videos. Maybe I could watch somebody debunk the difficulty or something, because seriously, how the hell do you beat level two in this game? Level two is so freaking — slash fucking — hard. If I need to swear, like a purge of some kind, this game will do it. This game will bring the darkness out. Everybody's darkness. Yeah, and I would love to play some Civilization too, but I need to learn how to play Civilization first — that shit's hard.
The Game Genie Life Lesson
All right, let's see how far we can get without losing our first life. Yeah — no. What happened? All right, whatever, we already started fighting off the infinite lives. This is literally just a game of patience at this point. Just patience. How far are you gonna go? We don't even need to try. I wish I'd bought a Game Genie as a kid. See, this is a valuable life lesson: you could try your ass off and play a whole bunch of this game and get really good at it, or you could just fucking spend a few dollars, buy a Game Genie, and dump all over it. Sure, that's dishonorable in some areas of life, perhaps. But there are other areas of life where you can just take a shortcut, and it seems crazy not to.
Like college. If I had to do it over again, I would not go to college. What a waste of money and time that was. "Here, let's learn how to drink and play video games and watch movies all night and borrow a bunch of money" — you can do that shit for free living at home with your parents. Oh, and he ran me over again. Yeah, beat him off. Chat's like, "oh, you like beating guys off, don't you Jerry?" Oh, just on Nintendo. Maybe in real life too — fuck it.
It feels silly that I'm even upset. Like, why? I haven't put the work in. Why would I be upset at not being able to suddenly and immediately whoop this game's ass? That's totally irrational. But who said people were rational?
Oh yeah, and get in the bar, mom — I'm still paying. My wife's still paying on her law school loans, and they're still close to what they originally were a damn decade ago. I paid mine off, and I've actually paid about as much off on hers as she has now. "But then you asked her for money the other day, didn't you?" Yeah, she gave me $22,000 the other day. I was like, yeah, my channel's kind of going slow, I'm pivoting, getting back in the game — I'm gonna do my original channel again — so give me like $22,000 and I'll be good for the year. And now this fucker — this is bullshit. And I know, I realize I put myself in position for this to happen.
Fighting the T-1000: You Cannot Just Slug It Out
All right, this fucker. Infinite lives don't matter here — you gotta play him properly. You kick him — shit, bitch, fuck. Oh, you cannot just slug it out with this dude. You cannot just slug it out. All right, we gotta figure out the meta. Where do the punches land? Ah shit — you gotta get like one punch in, get like the tip of the dick in, you know what I'm saying? Just try to touch him for a minute. Just touch him for a minute. Fuck. No.
"Why didn't you just put the infinite health code on, smart ass?" Well, maybe I should have. Maybe I should just put infinite health on. Why do you gotta go halfway with cheating? Why not just put infinite health AND infinite lives on? Fuck it, right? Why go halfway with cheating, dude? And I hope Superman is taking notes right here.
Look at that — I don't know how to kick in this game. Oh damn, you see that? I got down and hit him a couple of times — oh shit, that actually worked. I don't know how to kick in this game and I don't like that. Oh shit, oh yeah, let's go. Is that what you did, bro — like punch him in the ball sack? Dude, how many fucking hits does he take, though? I've hit him so many times — when is it over? That's what she said. Dude, am I not damaging him right now? What the fuck's going on? I know, it is lame if you put in the infinite lives, though, isn't it? Or the infinite health code.
I don't know how to kick in this game. I'm punching him in the balls — look where I'm hitting him, he ain't even touching me, I'm punching him in the goddamn balls — how many times I gotta hit this motherfucker? And it's not counting. Do I have to punch him in the face, or the knees? "You're fucking blowing him now, bro." Oh shit — it's like those hits in the balls didn't count, because now I gotta punch him in the chest or some shit. I just punched him and I'm like, what the fuck is that? I'm gonna go punch the shit out of him — and you just get one hit in at a time. Fuck. Yeah. Fucking no. Fucking hell.
Why This Game Makes Everybody Swear
I don't know why this game makes me want to swear. It's like my son — he'd go play pinball at the video game store, and he's like, "Dad, I missed the pinball again, I'm gonna say shit." He missed the pinball, so I say shit. He's like six years old. Like, it's just a pinball game. And yeah, I realize this is just a silly-ass Nintendo game, but I don't know — it just gets you, doesn't it? Why does this guy have so much health? Shit.
Somebody in chat said "get close to him and use the B button and you'll kick." Wait, what are y'all talking about? I'm doing the B button and that shit ain't doing anything, dude. And I hit him so many times — why didn't it take any health off? Oh yeah, that's it — you can get a couple of hits in before he swings back. Damn, why does this shit take so many hits? Oh — why did that work? Why did that work? And why was he not naked already? Like I just got booze, close the motorcycle on a weapon.
The Craziest Level Even With Infinite Lives
All right, now this level is the craziest-ass shit. This level is SO crazy — I'm gonna see how fast we quit. This is the craziest level even with infinite lives. This shit must have taken me an hour and a half to get to this level the last time I played. I don't know why everything takes so many hits. I didn't die, and I've been at this about an hour — this is my favorite hour. Oh my god, here we go, dude. The amount of times you die on this one is so crazy, I wonder if infinite health would even help. I mean, you've got to shoot through — this is a crate.
Oh shit. Oh fuck. We gotta wake up — like, that's pretty badass to start it off that way. Do I have — this has infinite ammo, it looks like. Dude, what's really hot though is when you almost beat this — the longer you keep going, it gets so intense. Shit. Fuck. Dude, this is so hard right here. Now that's what she said. I mean, I would have killed to have this game as a kid, you know? But now it's like I've got better stuff to do than jerk around and play a video game all day — most of the time, anyway. Oh yeah, you gotta be shooting right when he's coming up on you.
I just had a fucked-up thought. I remember reading this book where this dude kidnaps these girls, and he bought them a Super Nintendo, and I'm like, well, he's not a total monster. I mean, if you're gonna have some people kidnapped, you should at least get them a video game system, you know? God damn, that's the least you could do. I hope that dude got them games like this to play.
Oh, see — now if you're ready for his ass, you can get him right away. Damn. Oh shit, he done killed me. Imagine if you only had like two lives, though — I've gone through like ten lives already. Wait, what the fuck is happening with my frame rate? Oh damn, my frame rate went down to 3,000. This is brutal. It says my stream status is excellent, but I don't know, dude, my frames are going nuts. Damn, that took off almost all my health. This is crazy how hard this is.
All right — I beat this once. I played this like a hundred times and beat it once. You can't let the truck catch up or he fucking eats you. It was glitching hard, and I don't know why my stream frame rate keeps going way up and way down. Yeah, it's crazy. Superman needs that Game Genie — this is insane. All right, we'll wrap this game up in a minute. I'm so impressed I actually persisted long enough to beat this last time. That's so baller, dude. The truck comes in from the left — this is so hard. And can you imagine, back in the day, every time you even wanted to try the second level, you had to beat the first level again? I mean, you would get good at punching that dude out so you didn't even lose a life.
Imagine Grinding This as a Kid
But then think how intense that is: as soon as you beat that first level — Jesus — you only get like three or four tries at this one. That's so crazy. And my bitrate's going nuts, 6K, 3K. I mean, I would have loved to play this as a kid. Did I ever play a TurboGrafx-16 console? No, I did not. They did such a great job making this game absolutely hard. I would have loved grinding this when I was like ten, because I love Terminator 2. This is so amazing. All right, how many lives is that — like 20, 30? Just the time efficiency, oh my god. And then I crashed on one of the easy things. Can you shoot down? No, you can only shoot straight back. Am I hitting it right there?
A Quick ICP Tangent: Support Your Creators
Somebody asked if I'm gonna talk about ICP today. I don't think so — yesterday I filmed a bunch of ICP videos for Blockchain Pills, so I'm pretty much caught up on my ICP videos. But yeah, we'll be talking lots more ICP soon. I hope Caffeine AI comes out. And I like how WaterNeuron already did a 2x since I first got that creator grant — they gave me five thousand WaterNeuron, and now it's up to ten thousand. Meanwhile — damn, that truck ate me for breakfast and shit me out. RoboCop is a hard game too, by the way.
These projects should take note: if you support the creators, your project's value is gonna be higher. That's why I went off on Gold DAO like this — y'all are missing the absolute basics of marketing, you're missing the basics of giving back to the community. You're in a scarcity mindset, and I sure don't want to invest in a project that's in a scarcity mindset. WaterNeuron has done a great job — fuck, bro, Jesus — WaterNeuron did a great job with giving back to the community.
Games This Hard Taught Us How Brutal Reality Can Be
I wonder how long I can play this. At 16 minutes in, I don't know — I played this on Facebook Live once for like two hours. The next level is hard too. Can you imagine having to do this shit every time? Fuck, dude, this is crazy how hard this is. Oh god damn it — just say "that's what she said" 80 more times. Damn, that car over there — can you get up on this a little bit? Those cars on that side are killing me. And if you stop shooting at the truck, it just eats your ass. Chat's like, "and you'd like that, wouldn't you Jerry?" — haven't done that in 15 years. Oh shit, oh my god, this is nuts. I don't know how much longer we're gonna play this — I want to play a little bit of Dune: Spice Wars too. Oh yeah, dude, look at my health already.
This is so wild — I mean, you can see how we kids grew up back in the day. You played games this hard, and kids today are going to Minecraft, and every new game lets you save every five seconds. This taught you how brutal reality can be. You actually feel it a little bit when you die. It's like — I've played this shit for a minute. Oh bro, oh my goodness, even with infinite lives — this game, Terminator 2, is unplayable even with infinite lives. It's so crazy. That's gonna be a title. Remind me — that'll be the title. Terminator 2 is unplayable even with infinite lives. Oh, I'm gonna die — I barely got through that. Oh my god.
This driving level is like driving after you drank. Oh, I think it's about time to wrap it. Can you imagine playing all the way through the first level and then whacking straight into the first doorway like that? But infinite lives — whatever, you take what you get. I wonder what it'd be like to do this without cussing. I don't know, this game just leaves me wanting to cuss. I feel like I'm ten again playing Return of the Jedi or Turok. All right, we're good so far, we're making it — oh, he ate my ass. Don't put cars right there! Why do they put cars right there? I really want to beat this level. Oh, why did I turn there? Oh good, it came back. This is so hard. Oh, I like it though. I like it hard. Me harder.
Eleven Years Sober and Officially Unplayable
You take it never, baby — I've got 11 years sober. And you know what's nice? I know I can just decide, sober, to be silly, be funny, act drunk or whatever — let down your normal guard, open your mind. And — no. Now the game done froze, and then it froze me up. That's it: this game is officially unplayable, infinite lives and all. The game froze, and I'm not playing level one again.
So if you got a laugh out of that, let me know what game y'all want to see next — how about Home Alone? I did Kung Fu, so next we'll do Home Alone, and there's plenty more retro chaos like this over on my Games playlist. Fuck — I didn't stop the recording.
