Last night, Internet Computer was attacked by a widespread AI enabled plot attack, which involved hundreds of canisters using all kinds of malformed WASM modules. At the same time, in my Skool community at jerrybanfield.com, one of the newest posts was talking about how the crypto media attention is underwhelming about the UNDP partnership, but not sure that there's a conspiracy. Just that ICP has a weak crypto narrative mindshare compared with the rest.
This video is bringing both of those together, because the way I see it, there's some group of people working together to try and take down ICP using any means necessary. An AI enabled attack, and all kinds of FUD and trolling accounts that have appeared on social media.
Now, some of the accounts that have appeared on social media, some of these accounts, they FUD and troll other cryptos too. But like Ash Crypto, for example, Ash Crypto is out there hyping a bunch of coins and then FUDding ICP. So as Dominic sees it, the posts trace back to agency paymasters who themselves have received money from somebody. Whoever is funding this has no place in the tech industry. Dominic's saying that well funded organizations behind these attacks are not interested in making the world a better place.
This Is Not a Marketing Problem
To me, this is what's going on. It's not that ICP just somehow hasn't got the marketing right. And it's not accurate that ICP simply doesn't command the attention it once did. The reality is that ICP doesn't have a visibility problem. ICP is actively being suppressed and attacked because it threatens the entire rest of the crypto system. And an AI enabled attack trying to take down Internet Computer Protocol fits into this perfectly.
Especially because there are huge things coming on ICP. Cloud engines, Multidex, open software as a service, intelligence gateway. There is every motivation for a wide range of people and organizations to stop this technology. This is huge.
For example, Multidex is basically building something similar to Hyperliquid or dYdX, comparable to a centralized exchange, but it's fully on chain and it's going to be owned directly by the network nervous system. That is a gigantic value proposition. If there were any kind of integrity, or if something seriously conspiratorial were not going on in the crypto space, this would be getting wide coverage. Wow, somebody's building a fully on chain version of Hyperliquid. That's huge. This actually would be owned by holding an ICP token and voting. That is massive.
But there is either a lack of integrity, or there is some kind of direct conspiracy where people know what they're doing. They're actively attacking this technology through any means necessary. Whether it's liquidating a bunch of longs, or organizing bots and AI to attack the infrastructure, or having people go and FUD ICP. Whoever's doing this does need to be brought out. There are people who know exactly what they're doing. And they're laughing. They think this is funny. They take their paychecks and their job is to stop ICP.
Because ICP threatens Bitcoin and Ethereum. It threatens centralized tech. It threatens government control. It threatens platforms like Hyperliquid. It threatens all these software as a service platforms that are making huge amounts of money, things like Salesforce. They have huge customers that you could move off onto ICP. ICP is taking on the tech industry. It's taking on all of crypto. This is not just an issue with some marketing and some mindshare.
What I Saw Firsthand as a Police Officer
Now, this would be different if I hadn't gotten to see a little bit of the inside of these things operating myself. But I have.
As a police officer, firsthand, I saw how certain people were allowed to break the law. I was literally ordered multiple times to not arrest someone because of their status. That this person was connected with a politician. That this person was important. That they shouldn't be arrested because it'd be bad publicity and they didn't want to have problems because of it. That this person should be allowed to break the law and go home instead of going to jail. Multiple times, me and my coworkers were ordered not to take people to jail who had blatantly broken the law in a way that an ordinary citizen would go to jail for every time.
So I've seen firsthand as a police officer that we were just muscle for the elites. That we were there to keep the ordinary people in line, to keep order. But if you were an elite, you got to get away with things. And occasionally a celebrity gets arrested, or occasionally somebody starts a little war where one elite's muscle will arrest somebody else's minion.
For example, when I was a police officer, our department arrested an officer from another department for drunk driving and some other crimes. And then that department, instead of thanking us for helping keep their department straight and showing what was happening, a lot of the people from that department went to war with us. They're like, how dare you arrest our officer? Like we were in the wrong for arresting their officer for drunk driving. So I've seen that as a police officer.
The Secret Terms I Signed as a Facebook Partner
Second, I have got to a high enough level as an influencer where I've received secret terms and conditions. These are conditions not visible to the public. These were disgusting terms, and they were locked up with a non disclosure agreement. And you had to sign them.
This was on Facebook. If you wanted to be a Facebook partner and get that badge of credibility, that backing from Facebook, exclusive opportunities that I made tens of thousands of dollars from within a year — huge extra paychecks, visibility, and a reputation — if you wanted that exclusive Facebook partner badge, you had to sign disgusting secret terms and conditions. I was so desperate, and I wanted it so bad, and I wanted to reach the top, that I just signed the conditions anyway, even though I very much disagreed with them.
And then I had the courage to just violate them, because I knew nobody except other Facebook partners and Facebook itself would know I was violating them. I tried to keep my violations as discreet as possible and speak out against the topics that I was not allowed to discuss. Now, these are things that were perfectly legal to discuss. These were very important topics. We needed honest discussion about them. And I signed secret terms and conditions saying I was not allowed to talk about more than — it was like 12 or 15 things. You would be disgusted to see what they were.
So I've seen that personally. I don't have to take somebody else's word for it. And I've heard from others that you get to a certain level on different platforms and there's more of the same. I don't know that there are secret terms for YouTube, but people will buy your YouTube channel or sponsor you. And if you say no to the sponsorships, then they'll attack you.
Right now what I see is that ICP is outside of the crypto matrix. And the crypto matrix has every incentive to attack it. So the bright side of this is that I see there are powerful people behind ICP. And there are other powerful people on the other side of ICP. The world overall needs this technology. But there are some people, and I would say a minority, with a lot of money and power, and they do not want this tech. They want it taken down. They want to steal it for themselves. They are desperate to keep the price suppressed. And they will go to any lengths to keep it suppressed.
These are valid thoughts to have. But once you've seen what I've seen, ICP doesn't have a visibility problem. The entire crypto matrix is intentionally stacked against it and set up on lying, cheating, stealing, dishonesty, confirmation bias, and extracting value.
The Whole Point of Crypto Is to Extract Value
And this is exactly what Dominic Williams had to say. Pierre's post on this had a similar thing where he talked about extracting value. The idea is to extract value. That's what you need to understand. Pierre made a really good post — the network got attacked by an AI swarm, and this is what it was like.
The goal of all these crypto coins is to extract value. So if you're not aware that the whole point of crypto is to extract value from people, and yet here's something that doesn't set itself up to extract value from people — but technically the price has done nothing but go down, because it was intentionally manufactured to do that from exchanges intentionally listing the price 50 to 100 times higher than it should have been listed at.
There's no reason a brand new coin should have been listed at $700, times 500 and some million market cap. There's no reason for that. It should have been listed at about maybe $5 or $10. At $20 at the most. Look where ICP is today. It's a billion dollar market cap at $2. How could an exchange with any integrity list ICP 300 times higher than it is today? That puts it at a market cap double what Ethereum is at.
How could you say that Coinbase and Binance have any integrity, listing a brand new coin for a 300 plus billion dollar market cap, putting it at number two immediately behind Bitcoin? If that doesn't show it — yes, FTX did its thing manipulating the price, but they didn't actually list spot buying. Coinbase and Binance listed spot buying, and it's their exchange. They had the token listed at $700. And then everybody calls it a rug pull. And that rug pull narrative is the main thing behind the excuse not to give ICP attention.
So to me, it is naive to think that we're not in the middle of a huge conspiracy. And a conspiracy is not something that the ordinary level people are perhaps aware of. The ordinary level of people are not operating on a thoughtful enough level of intelligence. I saw Bobby O do a great rant on this the other day. It's like, you should realize you're an idiot.
And I'm like, that's the thing — the ordinary crypto creator is not thinking critically. They're just chasing views. They're doing anything to make money. And if that means they have to shill tokens they don't believe in and shove people to exchanges, if that means they get more views FUDding ICP than hyping it, if that means they'll put 100X's logos of popular coins like Solana on their thumbnails just so bots and people who already have it will click their thumbnails, that's the environment we're operating in. Selfish, self centered, do anything to get yours, and you've got to look out for yourself.
What Is Stacked in Our Favor
And to me, ICP is the infrastructure of the future. The more it gets attacked and survives, the more you have big news that's not covered, the more it continues to survive — it's getting to be like Neo in the Matrix, where these attacks are just getting easier and easier. Someday this is going to have an absolutely epic rise. But we need to be realistic in the ICP ecosystem. Everything you can imagine is stacked against us.
What is stacked in favor of us though? Any companies that want to save money, and governments that want to have better infrastructure. But also entrepreneurs like me who want to build their website on a platform where it's not easy to censor me, where I've got my own chat at jerrybanfield.com.
I've got my Skool community, my Zoom calls, and this website is hosted directly on ICP. That is the whole point for somebody like me: the place I talk to people and the place I sell things are running on the same infrastructure that all of this is being aimed at.
I'm grateful we got $500 as a top leaderboard entry off of the sponsored crypto video I did with MaxFi.
So you have entrepreneurs that want to build. You have companies that want to save money. You have people that want a legitimate crypto investment. You have governments that want better infrastructure. There's more people for ICP in terms of what it can do for the world than against it.
I've also got a Meme Coin Dynasty game. Nobody's bought this. It's hella fun. Give it a try. Get in there.
This Is a War, and All of Us Are Soldiers
But make no mistake. There is a very serious conspiracy. There is a very strong conspiracy. ICP is threatening potentially trillions of dollars of people's wealth. This is a high stakes game. This is a we will do anything game.
We will hit you with an AI enabled attack. We will take out millions of dollars in longs and then liquidate them on purpose by selling a bunch of ICP. We will pay people to FUD your coin. We will go to any lengths to destroy you. We will use AI to try and copy your technology and release it ourselves. We'll try and hire people off DFINITY to weaken your organization. We'll put out negative things in the press. We'll launch junk coin after junk coin. We'll push narratives that keep people away from you. We'll take you off CoinGecko and CoinMarketCap in the AI category.
Like guys, this is a war. There are people with huge amounts of money going to war over ICP. There are people going to war in favor of it, like you can see with the UNDP partnership. There are powerful groups that are pushing ICP. And there are powerful groups fighting ICP. If you want to follow the whole story as it unfolds, I keep every one of these breakdowns together in my ICP Crypto playlist.
Like this is fun. You are in the middle of it. You are in the middle of a war. And all of us are soldiers. I'm an ICP soldier. I know whose side I'm on. And you want to play games? Okay. I play with you. Say hello to my lover.
