I hear there's a major ICP announcement coming in August, according to Pierre, the chief business officer for DFINITY. I'm going to take some speculative guesses at exactly what that might be, because I'm very interested to hear it, and Pierre seems to think this is going to be a big deal. So I'm going to run through four different things that could be the announcement and what the possible results of each could be. Now, this isn't financial advice, and I'm all in on ICP because of the technology and the big potential things that can happen with it, like this.
Guess One: A Major Government or Sovereign Cloud Partnership
My number one guess is that this is going to be a major government or sovereign cloud adoption or partnership. You've already got Pakistan, which has signed a memorandum of understanding and is building a national messenger app. And Pierre, the chief business officer, has some pretty strong connections with the UAE and beyond. Based on the things the UAE has been saying, I think there are good odds that the announcement — my number one guess — is some kind of deal with the UAE, where the United Arab Emirates is going to be onboarding to the ICP infrastructure via cloud engines.
That would be my number one guess for what the announcement would be. And the UAE — there's a lot of wealth in that country. Dubai is there. It's a big deal, even though the country itself is pretty small. It's a hub of activity, connection, and wealth throughout the Middle East, and that would be a big government to onboard, especially next to Pakistan.
That first possibility means you'd get another government alongside Switzerland and Pakistan. Switzerland is a big hub of money in Europe with connections all over the world, and Pakistan is one of the largest governments in the world — 500 million people in their country, which is more than the US. Those are already big partners, big collaborations. To have another one with the UAE really strengthens the thesis and puts it out there publicly that this is happening. And it makes you wonder how many other governments are interested in getting onboarded. If the UAE is the announcement, you'd be asking how many other governments around the world would also want to build out their infrastructure like this. So that's my number one guess for what it will be.
Guess Two: A Big Enterprise or Customer Deal
The second guess is that it's a big enterprise or customer deal. Dominic Williams has been teasing AI and AI nodes and connections with AI and big tech, and Bobby O has been laying it out fantastically in his videos. There are so many uses for AI in big tech and so many reasons to build on ICP. A big enterprise could be huge for ICP because it could save huge amounts of money for them, and you could be looking at hundreds of thousands of dollars, if not millions of dollars, more of ICP being burnt every month.
Sometimes we've seen partnerships like this get massive coverage, at least for other coins in the crypto press. If DFINITY launches a big enough partnership — say with somebody like Google, Amazon, Apple, or another Fortune 100 company — that might be such a big partnership that a significant amount of the crypto media would feel compelled to cover it, because they'd look ridiculous for not covering it. It would be like when Dominic demonstrated the fully on-chain facial recognition for Internet Computer Protocol — that got a lot of coverage in May 2024 and was part of the price pumping along with altcoins. And now you're seeing the price of Bitcoin, which is a lot of money.
A partnership with a big enterprise could be even more bullish than a government, because you've already got a couple of governments with memorandums of understanding. Governments can go super slow with getting everything adopted, while enterprises can also go slow, but they may move a bit faster than a government. So if you hear that the announcement is Company X — whoever it is: Google, Microsoft, Amazon, or even smaller companies, since the giants are going to go super slow — maybe a smaller Fortune 100 company like a major airline, a big hospital, or a big law firm like Morgan and Morgan. If you hear that a company like that is moving their applications onto ICP cloud engines because they want to save a bunch of money and put AI fully to work in their business, then you could have something that would be a big announcement and a big amount of cycle burn. Then you could actually get some speculation going. You could wreck all the shorts that are trying to get the longs liquidated to push the price down — push all those longs up, crush all the shorts, and create a big, huge price breakout for ICP.
Those, to me, are the two most likely announcements coming: either a big deal with a government or a big deal with an enterprise or a bigger customer — maybe even a non-governmental entity like an NGO or some other kind of nonprofit.
Guess Three: Something Big With AI
Third — and we'll cover two more of these, and it could be a combination of all three as well — the third could be something big with AI. Bobby O's videos lay this out fantastically, especially his last 40-minute video called Big Tech and ICP Alignment. Big tech really needs ICP. For example, Bobby was talking about how these AI models build all these lines of code, but they don't get any revenue from all the lines of code they build.
And you have somebody like me building on jerrybanfield.com, where I've built out a website with hundreds of thousands of lines of code. I'm grateful, thanks to you and the people watching along with you, that this website has cranked out about a thousand dollars in the last week, which is a big deal for me just surviving financially after getting divorced. I gave my ex like 80% of the stuff with no fight, just letting her do whatever she wanted — she gave me 20% of the assets and took 80% of everything else — and I've been restarting. I also needed to find myself and get back to YouTube. So this support has been huge. Like Chella came in, paid for the lifetime access to the chat, and then paid a few times to talk to me right when I was online. And then I've got sponsored crypto videos now. I have YouTube coaching, dating coaching, a Skool community, and I'm putting up books. I've got games on there, the community chat, and a tip leaderboard as well — so if you want to tip, that shows off on there too.
Here's the thing, though. I made this website with Claude — Claude Fable — and I pay $200 a month for the Claude Max plan. Now imagine in the future, when I would love for this website to be cranking out ten-plus thousand dollars a month on average from the chat, from the products in the store, from tips, from coaching, whatever it is. Let's say in the future this website cranks out ten grand a month. You mean to tell me I'm only paying $200 a month for Claude Code, and Claude Code gets none of the revenue from my website? Well, if you had Claude running fully in, say, an AI node, and it ran everything and hosted everything and all of it was fully on-chain, then Claude could actually be set up to get ongoing revenue — micro-fractions of the income I generate on my website. Now, that might not be a big deal if I'm making a hundred thousand or a few hundred thousand a year on my website. But what if somebody uses Claude Code to build something that makes millions, or tens of millions, or hundreds of millions of dollars in revenue? These AI companies' best potential monetization is to get a percentage of the revenue that is generated by the things their AI models create.
So you could have a major AI announcement. Bobby said this was the best part of his video and he wished he hadn't put it at the end, while I'm making sure to put it in my video eight minutes in. The key thing is: if you have AI nodes and can make all the AI models fully on-chain, then you could build something like Claude or ChatGPT so that they would get micro-transactions — for example, every time you spent cycles, they would get a few cycles in return. It could be small, like fractions of a percent up to even 1%. But right now on Web2, the way the rest of the internet is built, you can't set that up, because as soon as Claude cranks the code out, there's no way to enforce revenue off the code. You've got Anthropic and OpenAI trying to put in watermarks and ways to track the things that were generated with their AI, but they're really in a position where they can't monetize that much.
So we could get a huge announcement that one of the AI companies definitively has a way to put the biggest and best large language models in AI nodes that run fully on-chain. From there, you could do everything: the models can run on-chain, all the outputs could be on-chain, and then you can have micro-transactions and micro-payments and royalty models from everything that AI generates. That could be an absolute game changer. If it's a government or an enterprise, we might see maybe a two or three X in the short term in the price. I need to stock up some more ICP, because a lot of the announcements in the past haven't gone anywhere, partly because the crypto media is basically compromised and incompetent — they hardly cover the biggest technology advances in crypto at all, and they just sit there and shill their coins. But when you have true breakthrough stuff, sometimes they do have to sit up or risk looking completely incompetent to the public. They could get away with ignoring governments and enterprises — governments especially, enterprises would be a bit harder to avoid. But if you have something like one of the major AI companies as an integration directly on-chain — and this is Dominic's point, he's been talking about this this year — if they get something fully functional that's a breakthrough in AI technology, you could be looking at a 10 or 20X, like overnight. Not overnight necessarily, but over a period of weeks or a month or two, ICP's price could go nuts fairly quickly, because AI is a huge category with huge amounts of money in it.
This is the one I'm rooting for — that they've got a major breakthrough with AI. They already demonstrated the fully on-chain facial recognition in 2024, and that got us close to $20, along with me coming into ICP and bringing a bunch of people from other communities, and all these SNS projects launching, and then the facial recognition hitting right after that. So I'm rooting for the AI one. Now, that one is technically more than likely the most difficult.
And Pierre, as the chief business officer, is probably less likely to be the one sharing something from that kind of research. It would probably be Dominic Williams — but maybe Dominic Williams is going to announce it himself. So the AI breakthrough is less likely than the other two. But if that's what it is, we would likely see a major price breakout.
The Wild Card: A Financial Institution — or All of It at Once
Now, here's a wild card where this could get really crazy. And of course, there's a minority chance it could be something else entirely. It could be a major financial institution integration as well. Some of these coins — their entire hype and market cap exists because of a major financial institution working with them. So if you have somebody like Visa or MasterCard starting to process payments, or a big stablecoin provider moving onto ICP, something like that could hit pretty well too. That's going to be less likely.
But here's where things could get crazy: it could be an announcement that combines all of these. There could be a government, an AI provider, and a corporation — some other corporation — all of the first three together, where a government is going to be working with a company. Let's say, for example, the UAE is going to work with Google Cloud, and then Anthropic is going to provide on-chain AI, with Google Cloud providing a lot of the nodes — but not all of them — in a cloud engine, and then Google helps the UAE via the cloud integration, with AI and all of it on-chain. You could see something like that bringing a government, a company, and AI all into one, and that could be crazy explosive. That would require signed agreements, coordinated PR, and very careful timing, because once something like that hits publicly, you can have some serious accumulation.
I'm in Position
And I'm in position, baby. I've got all these ICP videos just sitting there — I make ICP videos every day, and you can watch them all on my ICP Crypto playlist. If a whole bunch of traffic comes into ICP, a whole bunch of people are going to find Jerry Banfield. My portfolio is going to pump. All kinds of people are going to come to my website and join the chat and pay for calls to talk to me about ICP and ask me how to integrate all this stuff. Hell, someone might even come in and pay for dating coaching or YouTube coaching off of my ICP videos, along with the chance for sponsored videos to pop off. My books might sell. The Skool community could go up.
You've got to appreciate how committed to this I am. There are certainly bigger whales than me with more ICP, but there aren't that many people in the world who benefit more from ICP pumping than I do. So I can be patient waiting for this stuff to happen, realizing that whenever ICP goes where it's going to go, my crypto portfolio could go from $20,000 to several hundred thousand, which will be game-changing for me financially. I won't have to watch my credit score go down into the 600s as I borrow from all of my cards, do balance transfers, and play little games to pay my rent. And my YouTube and business income will probably go from a few thousand a month to tens of thousands a month. It could happen relatively overnight.
I'm in position. This is what I do all the time: I see where things are going, I get in position, and I wait for it. In the past, sometimes I'd get in position and then run out of it and be pissed off that I missed the opportunity when I was there — like Bitcoin, where I didn't stay long enough. But with ICP, we've learned from that.
Let's Talk About It
So these are the angles I see as most likely for a major announcement. If you want to talk about this stuff, the thing to do is go to jerrybanfield.com and join the chat — we're talking about it in there. You can also join the Skool community if you use Skool, or if you'd prefer to use Skool; we're talking about this stuff in there as well. So there are two options.
If you'd like to talk with me on calls, whenever I'm available you can just pop in — like the last guy, who was talking to me within 15 minutes of buying the talk-to-me-now for 10 minutes, and then ended up talking for over an hour. Or you can schedule a Zoom call in advance; I've got a Zoom call scheduled in a couple of days.
My Officer Banfield book is also on Amazon and Audible, and all of that is on my website — a fantastic book about my days as a police officer.
Thank you to everybody on the leaderboard who is helping me make this into a proper full-time job, which I've done the work to set up. I'm in position, and I'm really grateful for your support. Chell, Zenith, True Self, Map, Citrus, Tube — all of you who joined the chat within the first week or two of launch, thank you. And I hope to see you on jerrybanfield.com soon so we can talk.
